Try shit at random until you have more specific questions to ask! Listen to leads you like and try to replicate them!

Feature creep IS bad, it's true!

I just feel that the main weakness of most li'l mixers out there is that they only have one output, and I think even just an aux out would really make this special and unique, and more useful for a lot of chip people. Three stereo ins and two stereo outs would perfectly fit the very common "two gameboys and a kaoss pad" setup, with only 8 knobs!

Anyway, it's your project, and I'm sure it will be rad no matter what! Personally, you put a stereo aux out on it, and I'd buy one. Four stereo inputs and an aux out, and I'd flip!

As always, I'm interested in getting thing like these as donations for research/preservation. Especially since you just want the plastic, and I'm mainly interested in the PCB. Though it would sort of feel like a shame to divide a rarity up into parts. Though, first you could it the cart PCB you want to put in it even fits well in the shell. Sometimes the pirates are a bit off on their measurements. But it's your cartridge and I'm asking to have something for free, haha.

This was my exact thought process! "Maybe nitro could use this for study. But it would be a shame to split them up..." let me see if I can get it to do what I want it to, and if so they're going to wind up being split up anyway, so I'd be happy to send you the PCB. If not, maybe you have something fun lying around to trade me for the full cartridge?

what i nfradead said. I'd pay well over $45 for a well built mixer like what you're describing.

I have one of these that my dad gave me:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Furman-SM-3B-XL … 1238685125

I keep coming back to it because it's so compact and it already has balanced XLR outs on it, but I rarely use the mic input, and I never use the ducking feature, and I wish it had an aux send/return. It takes 9v power which is super convenient, my pedal supplies can run it - BUT it's center + so I have to invert most pedal supplies. I'm also not a huge fan of the rackmount-style layout, but that's incidental.

So with that in mind, here's some things I'd love to see:

• stereo aux send/return
• the option of battery or DC operation, ESPECIALLY if you could squeeze it down to 9v so it would work with pedalboards/standard 9v battery.
• balanced outputs! ideally male XLR, but I realize that's a space issue.
• RCA ins - that's the best combination of space occupied and mechanical strength imo.

I think I got a blue PIL shell from you about a year ago but I didn't do any mods to the shell.  Rebuilt it and sold it to Danimal Cannon.

That sounds right, but the one you got isn't this one. I had three - I kept one, you got one, and then the other one had the faded front and I traded it out complete.

At some point I heard somewhere that it wasn't possible to change the "NINTENDO" text that you see when the gameboy boots.

Well user jackary was kind enough to send me this Gowin cart for free when I was desperately looking for a green cart shell. It's not exactly what I'm looking for, but it's waaaaay cool. I really just wanted the cart plastic, but I decided to try out the game anyway, and...

I thought this wasn't possible? How did they do this? Any thoughts *cough*nitro*cough*?

What kitsch said.

I'm fairly certain that this is one of three blue pils I got from someone in a big purchase from outside the US, that I then traded out to someone else... this was over a year ago. The color of the faded front half of the shell is very distinct. The back half is very vivid, totally original color.

It passed through my hands totally unmodded, btw.
