I think the problem lies within mGB, it is simply not fast enough to process a full MIDI stream.

Yeah, I've had issues just playing mono keyboard parts into the thing - fast passages always get tripped up - it always seemed like note quantity is where it choked. Is this also why pitch bends seem to screw it up pretty badly?

That's a great shirt MAKE IT IN COLORS OTHER THAN BLACK!

I should have manufacturer and color code info for most of the scraps. If I don't, it wouldn't be too hard to figure it out. I'll get some stuff together and we'll chat. smile

kitsch, I work in a theater and can supply you with endless scraps of all manner of colors of theatrical lighting gel. Pieces the size of a gameboy screen get thrown in the garbage every day. Let me know if that would help in any way. smile

Make sure you check out both releases.

If you think you'll play either, PM me and I'll send you download codes! I can also mail a pile of TGS business cards.

I found this funky little box for $20 at a used music store that translates incoming MIDI signals across channels. I don't remember what it's called, and it's down in the basement. If I find it I'll let you know what it's called.

MIDI Solutions makes these two products - either one is $150.

I guarantee you that it's possible to do this cheaper with an arduino (or any microcontroller).

As for mods to the keyboard itself, I did this, to put the touch strip in permanent pitch-bend mode:

I have plans for more, including reversing the touch strip (so it goes the normal direction), and eventually making a sustain control. There may be a writeup about how I use the rockband keytar live soon by someone from Harmonix.

There's a US based company called Moody Tools that makes hands down the best tri-wing screwdriver I know of. The nicer ones that Kitsch sells are perfectly nice, but Moody's are the most durable for sure. They cost a few dollars more, of course.
