dont stress about it. dont rush. listen to some other stuff for inspiration. also get a keyboard or something you can practice writing melodies on faster than keying them in. fuck tutorials. i mean you need to know what you want to make, start simple, expect all your first tunes to be pretty shit cos most likely, they will be. hope that makes sense, in time you ll find out if you're capable of writing decent music. i always wanted to be a comic book artist, i was relatively handy with a pencil as a kid but couldn't draw on my imagination to ever draw something decent without copying something else. it turned out i sucked as an artist and preferred making music.

But its crucial its one of the early ones with motherboard VA1, Va2 and Va3 for best sound quality

if anyones got one kickin around they want to sell. hit me up.

ps i am in china so buying from australia, asia is best for me. but rest of the world is do-able too.

thanks lazerbeat. i ll try hunt down the original motherboard megadrive i think. not too fussed about the portability. hows the best way to check ? on the motherboard itself, by year etc......im thinking i have to search pretty hard to find one in china and sellers probably aren't gonna be too helpful because they see these nostalgic purchases as just old crap. and they're chinese sellers which means they'll basically tell you whatever you want to hear so you buy it. like 'id like this t shirt'......'okay, what colour and size'.......'er black and small please'......'certainly sir we have many'. 3 days later postman delivers you a xxl white t shirt grrrrrrrrr its a popular scam here, because the price of sending it back for refund is probably equal to the fecking t shirt haha.

also not right place i know but if anyone has a megadrive they wish to sell please pm me and i can pay thou via paypal. Australians/japanese peops are good for me as its a little closer than everywhere else. peace

dont get a mario tattoo. its too cliche. just my opinion. will you still want it there in 10 years ? i doubt it. get something unique and meaningful or dont get a tattoo at all. i thought long and hard yonks ago about getting a tattoo, i couldnt ever think of anyhting id like that actually meant something to me that would look good as a tattoo. but im a big pussy scared of needles. i have a freind he got a nintendo nes controller tattoo and a 1 up mushroom. rad at the time, now he's over thirty and it makes him lookl ike a dick. just my opinion. feel free to tell me to shut the fuck up. i sound like my fucking mother haha

I made this synth wise with them lovely c64 samples that are in the tracker food thread. They're great samples btw, gives a beautiful low fi synth vibe to this kind of slow drudgey hop hop vibe......the drums are simple, im not really doing much glitchy stuff right now......crunchy  DD10 stuff i think.......mmmmmm.......also some of my own funny low fi r n b vocals resampled, and of course a real r n b lady pitched down to sound like a soulful dude. I didnt upload it in the music section because despite the samples, it isn't chipmusic at all really. Anyhow, thanks if anyone can be arsed to give it a rinse.
