Side note: this thread topic rules. I wish all thread topics were written like this.

Noob question, but I've got a gameboy player and no software disk. What options do I have?

EDIT: What I meant to say was how rare are these actually?

Yeah I think the problem is you still have to a donor mapper chip. Which at that point makes just using a donor cart a better idea all together. Unless I'm wrong...

Nice, is that your site? It was a good read. But you still would have to find the appropriate donor cart, right? What information do we have about the Dev boards retro zone sells? Can those be configured with any mapper?

What exactly do you run on your Zelda cart? On a game boy you can just use an mbc5 cart and run basically any rom, but nes is different right?

I'm aware of all that, there just isn't really a super accessible way to get into it. Really your only option for any of that is dropping 130 bucks on a power pack.

I was mostly referring to FaMI or chip maestro.

Really though why aren't people interested in nes stuff?

I'm in the same boat. I might just sell them on eBay, or hope that a decent midi solution comes up and they'll be in a lot more demand.

I'm aware of nitro2k01, but he's also basically the only active gameboy developer that I know of. Nick seemed like he was saying there's many. The only other person on these boards I'm even aware of is ultra mega and he's not that active.

I have no idea what your project is but you could consider using remote desktop?

Learn and do it yourself?

@nickmaynard Are there really that many active gameboy developers still around? Or was that meant to be sarcastic?
