curious about the magnifier- how much are you selling it for?

Sorry, forgot to include price on that and SMB3. I was thinking 15 bucks shipped?

Just doing some cleaning in my shop and found some stuff some of you might be able to put to use.

Glass GBA Screen. These are getting pretty hard to come by with Zerey off the map now. I'll give it to you for what I paid, which was $10 shipped continental US.

Box of crap. A tetris pcb, a bugs life pcb (with MBC5), I think the NES pcb is pro wrestling, water damaged AGS-101 pcb, working GBA screen, dead screen DMG pcb, a used DMG screen cover, a gba shell pre fabbed for an AGS-101 screen, and a copy of KRULL. Just pay for shipping. 5 bucks.

Edit: NVM. I ended up just giving the fix found in the FAQ. I was thrown off because that talks about an error involving privileges. But it worked so there you go!

Hey, question here.
I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 and I've compiled it using gcc and installed libusb. I have the flasher running fine, but when I try to read or write anything it gives me the 'could not find/open device, is it plugged in?' error. When I run lsusb from the terminal I can see that the bus recognizes the cart as EMS Production Game Cube USB Memory Adaptor 64M and it's on bus 004 device 008.

So what's the deal? Why can the system see it but the flasher can't? Am I overlooking something obvious?

If the backlight is inverted and you invert the palette in LSDj the effect is exactly the same I believe.

Yeah.....thats what I meant.
Is it worth it?
Short answer: nawww.

If you're just using LSDj, then just select the inverted pallet. It looks the same afaik. If you're using another rom, use nitro2k01's guide here:
inverting a rom

Here's a picture of a biverted screen I found using the 'search' function:

great picture!

Intersted in a c64+cynthcart and maybe the Mssiah64 if they're available. Could you total that up for me in a PM?

WAIT A MINUTE. This is different from this:

So what's the deal? Is Nitro's a newer revison? From what I can tell modding his cart would require only moving the single cap.

Note: The red squares don't mean anything to me.

Hey, no threadjacking.
Only one "my first lsdj-er" per thread, buddy.

yeah, you definitely could've posted this in your 'transplanting lsdj' thread, especially since i asked if you had actually written any songs yet.

Saskrotch, you're my all time favorite.

I just wish I could help make this happen.

And also I don't see the problem with people being so negative about people wanting to mod their gear. Some people enjoy the modding part of this subculture, some people are more into the musical part. that's all fine. But why go all "You can't paint your gameboy if you can't make any good tunes!"
makes no sense at all. If someone really enjoys the artsy craftsy work. good for him.

My problem isn't that he want's to mod his stuff, but that all this info is completely available if you use the search function. I mean, I knew the answer and I've never started a new thread commanding people to help me.

yeah thats duo's website and there is regular activity in #gbdev on efnet

Yeah, I was talking to him. He was being helpful and funny. But it seems mostly quiet (I've stayed on for several hours a few times). Am I doing something wrong?

In my defense: While I was completely trolling the entire time, because of that, this thread didn't die and people helped you.

EMS made two carts: a 32mbit non usb and a 64mbit with usb. So calling it ems64 is the best.

There is also bleepbloop, and smartboy. Smartboy uses a usb gb transferrer, but they're hard to come by. The bleepbloop v2 that is now basically dead had a usb port, the bleepbloop v1 used a transferrer. AFAIK, it was the same design as the smartboy.

None of the tamagochi carts are rare at all. Just because it's from Japan doesn't mean it's rare. Look at the price, a rare cart with box and manual in good condition for ~$15? Forget about it! You're the one asking about the Nintendo flash cart, I figured a white case for your ems64 could help fill that void because the nintendo one is actually a rare cart that you will most likely never see.

Really at the end of the day, you should just make music instead of making your gear look cool.

Are you kidding?

Yes I am!

Timbob wrote:

On a more serious note: you have to move one of the capacitators from the top of the cart a bit down, use some wire to connect it.

Doesn't matter at all what colour cart you use. It won't fit in a normal size DMG cart because of the dent on the top.

I'll try and take some pics of one I did tomorrow.

It's a trap! He's trolling you! Everyone knows that it's impossible to move the capacitor because the heat from the soldering iron will fry the circut. DO NOT try and do that.
