I wouldn't recommend going with Polycut. When I was purchasing lathes from that guy, he was going through a ton of health problems, and there were many, many people that did not (and still have not) received their orders. I managed to get my copies, but it was touch and go for a while.

Oh, and remember that Lathe cuts are (almost definitely) mono.

I think I'd play more gigs if it was acceptable to just sit in the corner with a laptop plugged into a PA. Maybe it would make sense to hire someone to dress like me and dance around.

Absolutely thought this would be a thread about Bit Shifter getting chatted up by Rihanna.

PolarBirds, I think this will actually encourage people to use the board more. There are a lot of users that I don't care for that constantly try to derail threads with stupid shit and don't get banned.

This, for me, is a solution to my problem. This essentially allows everyone to become a moderator, and gives the staff less work to do, as they don't have to get involved and make judgement calls. I can just ignore users when I want to.

Outside is better.

In my case though (other than stock) internal paint coats are the only thing I can use in my setup. I managed to ruin a Game Boy's beautiful outside paintwork in a day with my crazy, sweaty hands. sad

It's a shame that purple one was sprayed on the outside, as I'd have been super tempted if it was on the inside. sad

I can vouch for Edward Shallow. I've known him personally for a few years now.
He's a friendly, interesting individual, and would make a good roommate.

While the full version of Renoise isn't free, it is certainly affordable, and value for money for what you're getting.

To be honest, it's fair (and usual) to ask for half of the money upfront, to show that the buyer is serious enough about it for you to start work on the project. I personally don't lift a finger until that happens. Sorry that you guys had to learn that lesson the hard way.

I think you should add a short bit about what sort of genres will be played by the artists on the bill. If it's dance/rock/death metal it will attract different crowds.

If they were to ask for an event description and you said "dance music programmed onto old games consoles", they will have a better idea of how to promote it.

This is unsurprisingly a great release, as all of Comptroller's releases are. The man can do no wrong.

Also, a Scottish chiptune artist putting out a C64-sampled limited lathe-cut clear record with 2 tracks on it? Where have I heard of something like that before? tongue

One good thing about physical releases is that they have resell value when you get tired of them.

Not so with mp3s.

Well, some things have a resale value, but it depends on how popular the bands you like are, and if there is a market when you decide to get rid of them. I've got about 3/4 of the way through selling my physical music collection, and now I'm stuck with this big load of records by bands no-one has heard of, and I can't shift them.

Also, mp3s tend to be cheaper than the physical records (at least with vinyl), so while mp3s don't have a resale value, you usually make an initial saving.
