I've made a game! It's called Eternities!

You can find it here: http://www.space-town.org/Eternities.html

It's essentially a playable music video for my song Eternities that was released on my last full-length, Futures Past Due! It's also preferably played all the way through (it's only 10 minutes long (wtf the song is 10 minutes long)) and with speakers turned up!

I did the music/art/programming/design. I'm not an artist or a programmer.

If you can't afford the carts, donate to the kickstarter! It's really important and we should be very excited about something like this happening!

are the geminis still available?

I've worked with Daniel in the past and he's a really really awesome guy! And this space may just be the kind of place that the indie game scene could centralize around! This has been one of his projects for a really long time now, and it'd be great to finally see it come to fruition.

pretty much -- donate because it's a really good idea.

You know your scene is legit when you have to start justifying your hardware/software choices for purity's sake.

I just get tired of all the praise people give some of these 2xLSDJ tracks for the sound design and how huge it is, especially when the artist doesn't mention that it is 2xLSDJ and just says "Made with LSDJ". It's like duh, this was made with 2 game boys, of course it's going to sound bigger. Again, there's nothing wrong in 2xLSDJ stuff in itself, it's just annoying when people view it and praise it as if it's made with 1.

Why does this annoy you? I don't really see any reason for it to bother you or anyone at all.

EDIT: the praise part, specifically

Here's some words from Andrew Dubber, who is featured prominently in bandcamp.com's faq: "The single most effective way to stop people from copying your music is to stop making music."

We live in an age where remixes happen; even lazy remixes like this one are possible. It's kind of weird that every time something like this happens we get so violently angry about it, especially considering the amount of covers and remixes that get featured on this site. This kind of thing should be treated like a stupid dubstep remix of a viral video on Youtube--worth a moment of slight disdain and nothing more.

He didn't do a very good job of defending himself, but I still stand by my position--we probably should have tried to talk about this stuff without getting super defensive right off the bat.
