How about people that mod gameboys and sell them online? I'm sure they make more than the average chiptuner
I'm sure that they're hobbyists that took their skills to meet a demand like a good entrepreneur. And yes.

So I think it's an important distinction to make, nobody is making chiptunes for the money. They make it because they love the aesthetic, culture, circuit bending, whatever. As opposed to say dubstep. I'm sure there's plenty of assholes out there who say 'oh this is big, people will like me if i churn out some wubs'.
That's not to say nobody making chiptunes is making money. It's not fucking deadmau5 money, but it's something.
If you want to make money I suggest not spending thousands on a PR campaign
I make some money but definitely have another job. I also get some money from producer/composing jobs
an0va wins everything.
Yeah I feel like my battle with him will be like a mirror match except my mirror is somehow much more handsome than me.
I make more money off of digital sales (I guess I could charge more for physicals, but I don't want to).
Also my digital copy has more content, like live videos, save files, and a bonus track. I love physical copies, but as an artist digital is so attractive to me
I think all the parties involved don't take themselves so seriously that this will turn into anything ugly. I prefer to picture this like a musical battle ala Devil Went Down To Georgia.
George and Jonathan use 'Zapp and Roger funk grooves', it's super effective!
Nordloef uses 'demoscene cred', it's super effective (to a really small subset of nerds)
DISCLAIMER: winner might not actually get a picture of Nugget, but they should.
Vote for your favorite chip musicians in this poll hosted by Noise Channel. I think whoever wins gets a framed picture of Nugget (this dog).

Yeah that Subpixel record might be my fave
dig it a lot!
Wax Cylinders
I can't even figure out if this a troll post or not
I really like it. I don't think the beat sounds broken in a bad way, actually. There was some cool/weird things you did with syncopation. Mad cool dude, sounds good!
This. It reminds me of meshuggah and djent
You have to remove a black piece of rubber, it heats up the glue there and reattaches the connections
