I will be selling a one of a kind collector's box at the event, featuring every release I've made (2 chip albums - both 1 of 100, 1 videogame inspired ep - 1 of 10 and 1 cassette tape - 1 of 25), 1 tshirt, 3 limited edition prints, 1 poster, 3 pin badges, 3 magnets and a free download of my next release. Also access to any single show I play. Anywhere.

All for £50.

Sweet deal. I hope an avid Edward Shallow fan snaps this up. Will there be smaller packages available for the less die-hard fans, or are you aiming to sell all merch in one fell swoop?

General note for all those interested in selling stuff at Ultrachip: there will be limited merch space during the evening events, but this will be for band merch only - t-shirts, CDs, etc. If you have anything that falls outside that category, you should sell it at the Chip Market during the day on Sunday (though performing musicians are welcome to sell their stuff both during the evenings and at the Sunday Chip Market, if they want to).

Please get in touch if you plan on selling stuff on the Sunday so we have an idea of numbers! Thanks.

There are various hostels & hotels in the area, options to suit all budgets. However, the event corresponds with the Edinburgh Festival & the city will be insanely busy at that time. So I recommend, if you need to book accommodation, do it NOW. Seriously. Or find a sofa you can sleep on for maximum low-cost joy and fun.

Continuing to enjoy this. 'Happiness in Winter' is beautiful.

This looks like a great show, wish I could see it. Get some good footage!

I will! Or I'll attempt to, anyway.

Aren't beats of rage from Preston? i seem to remember them from a few years back

These Beats of Rage are from Aberdeen, but there is (or was - 'R.I.P.' it says) a clubnight in Preston with the same name. No connection beyond sharing cool name.

4 acts play 3 gigs around Scotland in one weekend. 2 of the acts (named in subject line) are chip-related. The non-chip ones are still good though, okay?

Dates:

Friday 11th June - 13th Note, Glasgow
Saturday 12th June - Henry's Cellar Bar, Edinburgh
Sunday 13th June - Drummonds, Aberdeen

MySpace links:

Beats of Rage
Dead on the Live Wire
Bomb Berlin
Comptroller

£4 entry to the Glasgow & Edinburgh gigs, £3 entry to the Aberdeen gig since Bomb Berlin aren't playing that one. 18+ for all.

As mentioned on 8bc - give me a shout if you make it to Aberdeen. You've mis-timed it for chip shows, but I can point out the limited local attractions. smile

Certainly not!  No judging process will take place until all the entries have been received!  I had simply forgotten you and someone else submitted one already. XD I haven't replied to your emails or PMs because I felt your questions were much better answered in the thread since I didn't want to have to reply to a dozen PMs/emails asking the same questions. wink

No problem. Good to hear from you. smile

So far I only have one entry. :3

Has my entry been rejected then? I feel lame posting this question, but you haven't replied to my emails or PMs in the past.

ULTRACHIP
Sat 21st & Sun 22nd August 2010
#########

Ultrachip will be Scotland's first chiptune mini-festival, showcasing chip acts from Scotland, alongside national and international artists. Performances will take place on the Saturday and Sunday evenings. During Sunday there will be a series of workshops/discussions/demos/market/and art relating to chip/circuit bending and VJing. This is likely to be fairly informal (but awesome).

Ultrachip will take place in Edinburgh, at "The Forest" (http://www.theforest.org.uk), which is a DIY, not-for-profit volunteer run arts space (the building is an old church). This will form part of The Forest's 10th birthday celebrations.

The evening entertainment is 18+. Sorry. All ages are welcome to the workshops and chip market on Sunday morning/afternoon (schedule to be confirmed & announced).

As before, if you have chip-related art, merchandise or devices you’re looking to sell, get in touch (ultrachipfestival[at]gmail[dot]com); the chip market on Sunday is the place for you.

Ultrachip will be FREE.

Also - Ultrachip Facebook Group and Twitter now active. Join/follow for regular updates. Go!

I've been looking forward to this release since I saw the game trailer. Great, very atmospheric.

Neat. I was curious about how you achieved those sounds. Thanks for sharing!

This track has an intro section similar to the Kung Fu level music. Plus it was actually inspired by kung fu!:

I can edit it down as required, if you're interested.

Track choice update: 'Dance 1' abandoned, in case anyone else wants to attempt it. I've done 'Dance 2' instead.

Edit: spelling, gah.
