I add to this demand also. More shows please.

Hello!

I only moved to Edinburgh about 4 months ago myself (from Aberdeen originally) but I can help with a few things...

I organise Ultrachip - it's an annual event that just happened last month, so there's a long wait till the next one.

Currently there are no regular chip gigs in town, but I've organised one that's happening next month featuring 8GB, an-cat-max, myself and Fragile Chaos - Facebook event.

Music equipment shops: the only one I've used is Red Dog Music down on the Grassmarket. Biggest one in Edinburgh, plus they were helpful and reasonably priced, so seems like a good option to me.

Wiring / electronics: Maplin I suppose, or save some money and buy online.

Hope that helps! Send me a PM when you're in town if you fancy meeting up.

Wow, fast work! This is great.

Really fun night too, except maybe for the treacherous late night drive! We didn't get to bed till 7am, ridiculous.

It was great! Big thanks and high-fives to everyone.

Summary & chronological playlist of clips from every performer across both nights here.

Sweet sounds. I look forward to claiming one of these in a few days time.

Working on artist replacement...

Meanwhile, attempting to arrange world's first 16 player game of Faceball 2000 at Ultrachip over here. Share your thoughts please.

Not sure if this is the right forum for this but...

Faceball 2000 - 1991 FPS for Game Boy, apparently capable of supporting 16 players simultaneously. As far as I know, this gaming feat has never been achieved (I'm aware of one brave effort and a few early fails). Given the range of Game Boy devices and accessories many chip people have, I thought Ultrachip 2011 could be a good forum for attempting the WORLD'S FIRST (probably) 16 player game of Faceball 2000.

So anybody who's planning on attending and wants in on this, please bring as much of the following as possible with you:

  • Copies of Faceball 2000 (or GB carts with the ROM flashed to it)

  • Game Boys (DMG, GBC or GBA for lead compatibility purposes)

  • As many link leads as you have

  • As many 4 player adaptors as you have

The attempt would take place on the afternoon of day 2 (Saturday 20th August) at The Forest. There'll be other gaming related things happening, so seems like an appropriate time & venue.

How do people feel about this? Thoughts?
