I'm wondering why they put a "voice canceler" DSP in a games console! Hahah. From that description it looks very cool though.

All I want is to transfer my website from the html i'm on to a new one. I just want a simple html uploader that is fast and easy to edit pages.

I am really confused about what you are saying. I think what most people (me included) are recommending is either using something like wordpress, or making your own website in something like Notepad.

For "html uploader" I don't really know what this is but I use an FTP client to upload html files that I already made. An online "html uploader" where you edit the html from within your browser is an interesting idea. The only one I can think of is google sites: sites.google.com , but they are fairly restrictive with what you can and can't include on your page.

I've tried lots of options. The one I have is too slow and too basic.

It really sounds like you would be better with some hosting space and making your own site! For HTML editors you can just use notepad or whatever.

Um I like Linux and cats and riding a bicycle and chatting on IRC/IM and working at a museum.

Look for the program "Music Construction Set", you can emulate Tandy 1000 nicely in DosBox. The sound is like the BBC Micro or (edit: Sega) Master System.

Very excellent and good

Agree there is a bit of a mess of double standards... Bicycle threads OK, threads about cool watches OK, world cup thread OK, pokemon thread not OK, 4chan memes not OK if they are on 8bc, 4chan memes OK if they are on chipmusic.org posted by people who have been to blip festival? And though this thread isn't the perfect example of it, agree with most of what tactical bread said. Isn't really a problem, I am a member of more than one forum and I have a real life too, it's not too hard to get away from guys being dead serious and talking about expensive MIDI hardware that I don't understand if I need to. tongue

As I said on 8bc, think this ROM hack is a fake, unless someone can say they've played it, provide footage, screenshots, anything?!. Seems like an over the top amount effort to go into making some "artsy" storyline about a ghost which comes back to kill someone, hehe. Would be pretty cool if it was real though.

Analog, I think you are missing the point that Renoise is awesome and is free as well.

What?

As for the other definition of free software ("software that can be used, studied, and modified without restriction, and which can be copied and redistributed in modified or unmodified form either without restriction, or with minimal restrictions only to ensure that further recipients can also do these things"), Renoise is even further from it. It's not developed by "the community", it's developed by a team of people who are making money from. If you think it's any different to Ableton Live in that regard, you're pretty deluded.

Things which are genuinely free and offer many of the same features include Psycle and OpenMPT.

But, yes, if you don't mind spending money and don't care about free software, Renoise is a pretty competent piece of software (although I could never get my head around the "FT2 but worse" interface).
