Whats the software support behind this?

Looks from the site like it plays compiled MDX music, and if you've already got an x68000, you wouldn't need this? Apparently also "no plans to sell now or later". Sounds nice though.

You need to install custom firmware and it can be quite a laborious process, it took me an an-cat-max a whole day to do, but it's worth it in the end. smile

On the other hand he works outside of the scene and keeps a high profile, rather than just whining on forums all day every day! wink

The article is neither awful nor great, but it's more publicity which most people can agree is a good thing. smile

Can you compile your own code incbin a ROM? It's kinda easy to do on C64, maybe the same here?

I have one, but I don't use it very much because it's not particularly useful. big_smile

The site looks very bad at 640x800 and 640x400 (all forum topic titles disappear). Maybe you can make it force the browser (I am using Firefox) to scroll instead of mushing everything up. Thank you.

arfink, you are on Ubuntu?

The default "file-roller" archive manager gave me a "file naming mismatch" too, but unzip in terminal (like analog said) works just fine.

Trumpet, guitar, piano, flute, since forever. But this "chiptunes" thing probably comes more from my experiments with basic "beep()" function, MS sound recorder, propellerheads rebirth, various MIDI editors and a yamaha QY-20 since about 2000 or 2001 (so why do I still suck? sad ).

Having done a bit of assembler (does this make my opinion more valid or something?), I'm not saying I dont believe they did, just that it doesn't seem like the easiest way. big_smile

I read that one of those old great c64 musicians (completely forgotten who) actually composed their songs in a code-monitor (assuming most sane people would compose their songs at a piano/guitar/whatever and transcribe it in later)! neutral Can't imagine many people doing that now. smile
