oh wait.. just saw you have a mac.

okay then:

1- Set fire to your computer
2- Ask forgiveness for having made such an awful choice of machine
3- Buy a PC

Seriously.. whatever the equivalent of the 'user app data' is on mac.. it's gonna be there I bet. Or yknow.. exit fullscreen mode (alt-enter on PC.. probably like apple-banana-spin-turbo-W-ctrl-X-tap-on-the-screen on your toy computer) and resize the window, change your setting, and on your way to music making you are.

Haha! Yeah I know... The thing is: I cannot resize the window for some fucked up reason... The window "stops" at spd. I am trying to figure out where it stores it data in finder. I am going to trial and error some more. sad

Going to post this here, as this thread looks like a klystrack helpdesk big_smile

So, new at this. Really love the potential Klystrack seems to have. I switched to 4 x 4 pixels accidentally and now I cannot access the whole screen (including the menu) so I cannot set it back to 1 x 1! Help! What must I do? I have a mac. I emptied my cache, tried to uninstall and install the tracker but nothing seems to work. sad

LSDJ and you by roboctopus on noisechannel is a good place to start big_smile
His tutorials helped me a lot!

I agree with Sketchman3: your songs have a certain charm to them although they seem fairly simple. Which means: your music skills are top notch. Work on your LSDJ skills and you have potential gold in your hands. And Paul Veer rules.

Keep it up!

Our name is horrible. Not only is it a reason for people not to take us serious, there is also the constant threat of a Big N cease and desist (not really, but lol). But we were drunk, thought that we were being freaking genius and now we reached the point of no return: changing the name and throwing away all reputation we've build up throughout the years just seems not to be worth it.

I've always thought about changing my name, especially when I went from making melodic happy stuff with a hint of occasional darkness to chipthrash...but then I realized no one gives a fuck but me. So I have one happy album (Game Boy Rock), one kinda dark more industrial album but still with happy melodies (Telstar Arcade), one pretty much full on chipthrash album (Welcome To Thrash City), and then a weird one that is kind of eclectic but still mostly thrash vibes (Gameboy Gutsfuck). And now I'm back to making kinda happy music again, and I'm still Wizwars. Its just a name, and I figure at this point I'm stuck with it. I figure Darkthrone went from Death Metal to Black Metal to Crust Punk Infused Metal to Classic Heavy Metal Inspired over the years and they've stayed Darkthrone. And I fucking love Darkthrone.

But Darkthrone and Wizwars are both solid band names.

If you think that you are doing something wrong, you have to carefully examine what standards by which what you're doing is being judged. If they are not your own, and if you find that you disagree with them, they're not a good source of motivation. If you "fucking hate" getting rejected, you'd better look for alternative sources of motivation, because people will dislike your music, and some of those people might be curating a compilation you want to join. Find a standard that you are comfortable with and for which you have some level of personal control. You have to know yourself what is right or wrong not to be anxious about it.

You're completely right. I dunno, I've been doing this for 3 years now, did a lot of shows, made a ton of new friends... The frustration comes and goes: this weekend we played a show with a crowd going berserk and crowdsurfing and stuff and the next day I feel all insecure about my music (not necessarily about a compilation, but also because you fail in getting booked for certain shows for instance). That is how it has been going for years now.  I guess it is human (I hope).

Haha, thanks for the comments guys. I just fucking hate getting rejected: it makes me think that I'm doing something wrong. So I thought I just throw it out there.

Good point about the crowdpleaser part Sycamore. That seems to be our thing: our releases don't do a lot but during our live shows places get wrecked.

n00bstar: about the "it sounds like three million other gameboy tracks out there": haha, damn, mission failed big_smile

Sorry for the title of this thread: I am a dumb foreigner.

http://chipmusic.org/men+of+mega/music/hybrid-fora

So like almost every chip artist in the world we submitted a tune for the chip = win 2 compilation. However, we got rejected the hard way. That is absolutely ok of course, but I'm just curious what this song is missing. Is it too unce unce unce? It is too weird? Is it just not progressive enough for today's scene?

Your CC please.

wow, awesome! If you need artists in the future, please consider us big_smile

i want a mac version as well!

If anyone is seriously looking for netlabels, I've been compiling a list of them here. Each has a short description of what they are looking for.

You could also add EINDBAAS netlabel if you want. They just started out and have released Men of Mega and Monodeer so far. I think Roccow's EP is next. So there is a focus on Dutch artist, but I bet EINDBAAS is just looking for awesome stuff regardless where it comes from.

I'm curious as to what happened to I against me.  they have an EP on Cou Cou, and have some songs on soundcloud, but they havn't put up anything original for about 4 months and havn't really heard anything from them via cou cou since their last ep.  did they split up or are they secretly working on something new?

I believe they were recently active on their facebook, posting upcoming gigs. But maybe that was already 4 months ago.
