Hey all,

I'm trying to get hold of chip artists from / or in the UK (London) around the 12th of January next year that would be up for playing at my 25th birthday. If your interested in playing or even just DJing then drop me a DM or tweet me @colinwren with a couple tracks and we'll discuss prices (for those who are outside London I'm happy to add travel to price and give you my couch for the night smile )

Also if you don't want to play but are interested in chip then get in touch anyway and I can add you to guest list.

Thanks,
Colin

P.S. Not sure if qualifies as an upcoming event or general?

Completely up for this!

Thanks

Can get the N155 from there so should be ok, last journey was very dependent on the tube as friends live further out in Morden so weren't sure how they could get but looks like you've solved their problem!

I'm in SE11, we took two buses. took a while but it was pretty direct! You can take that same route and at least get to Elephant & Castle.

Was a really good event, hope it turns into a recurring thing. Can guarantee 5 tickets each time. Just need to find a decent route from E8 to SW17 at 2am.

When's the next one? smile

If there's a gig in London then I'm there. Public Life was the most quirkiest but awesome place I've been too.

A while back I was looking at setting up something like this up but at the time someone was already planning something so didn't bother.

Where I live in Wandsworth (Tooting, Putney, Clapham/Battersea, Balham, Earlsfield) there's loads of roomy pubs and clubs that hold gigs, not sure on how free they are to play though. Down the road in Wimbledon and Kingston there's some more 'alternative' venues like The Peel, The Watershed and The Fighting Cocks. I think they're more suitable as already pull in big crowds of people looking for something interesting. I also have close ties with Kingston College who hold an exhibition for it's BA Digital Arts degree so could have a spot doing the opening night.

Is anyone interested in meeting up and talking shop and organising a regular event?

Anyone interested in a free Rockband drumkit for xbox360? I used to use to connect them to my Mac and use them as MIDI drums in Garageband but they've just been gathering dust now.

One thing to note is that they are missing the metal poles as a friend salvaged them after his went missing.

Happy to travel anywhere within London to give them to you.

Colin

Not sure how I'd manage it but I'll try and travel up from London for this. Anyone willing to put me up for the night?

Absolutely amazing. Well done!

Just put my bid in, been looking at making one of these for ages but don't have the soldering skills and circuit knowledge to do it. Looks awesome!

Some of my stuff.

I've got two Gameboys, one green and one blue (used to make the images on this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9AMWzdJL … ture=plcp)

Then it all goes into my Mac Pro (8*2.8Ghz, 10GB RAM, 120GB SSD HD, 2*1080p monitors = It's a beast!) and is mixed etc in Logic

Plain Flavored http://calmdownkidder.com/records/releases/cdk048 and http://plainflavored.bandcamp.com/ (you don't know how hard it is to not put a u in there)
Anamanaguchi - any album and the singles on their website
YTCracker's Nerdrap Entertainment System (not chiptune in the strictest sense but rapping over NES songs makes it a must hear)
Dream soda
Dispyz
Radio Graffiti v1.2

Lost a lot of compilations due to a recent HDD failure, there's one I'm thinking of that was 1-minute songs. There a really brutal song on there that is a must listen

I'll come to the London show, while you in London I'd recommend seeing the people at Banquet Records in Kingston (South West London), they would probably take interest in your sound.

Just finished a rough mix of the song I'm working on with the gameboy mic'd up. Mix needs a lot of adjust, but this is the sound I was going for.

Hey guys,

Been a while since I've been on here, but I'm finally getting back into making music.
I've been kitting myself out, got me a decent guitar and just got myself a USB audio interface and Sennheiser e606 mic (it's a flat front mic, good for guitar recording). I've found it really good for recording my Gameboy through it's speaker (gives it a more 'nostalgic' sound) as well as my guitar amp.

Just wondering if you use mics, if so what do you go for and if not do you find that a line-in is too direct?

Thanks, still need to get this mixing thing sorted, doesn't help that I've got a massive subwoofer so the bass is alot louder than it would be for anyone else tongue

Thanks for your help though smile
