Would the odd hand percusion like clave sticks or tambourine be accepted, as well?

Sent in some plucked violin and ocarina, this is such a great idea!

Most people here already helped with the answer (Hey, Invisible Robot Hands, thanks for the tip. I've been using A00 as my empty table for months!)

But, wouldn't the climb to VF6 be smoother if done over 2 or 3 fast tables, rather than a single table slowed down by a G command? Wouldn't having only 16 steps (15, if using the H0E trick) for the vibrato slide would make it a somewhat jagged slide into the deeper and faster vibrato? although at higher BPM's it probably wouldn't matter as much I guess.

We had a similar thread a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away; but basically I chose something that meant something to me, kind of, and also made sure it sounded cool, kind of, and foreign, kind of; and then made sure nobody on the internet was using it because back when I was edgy I used "kernel panic"; which neither meant something to me, sounded cool, or foreign, or was not taken.

It backfired because nobody can ever remember it. Kind of like my music.

Your question about video games is rendered obsolete by your question about hours spent gaming.

Do you even HAVE two dmg's to sync?

It all depends on which arduinoboy, and what your needs are.

Some aboys have midi thru.

Some are NOT powered by the gameboy, so you need to be replacing a 9v battery every so often or plugging them into a wall socket/your laptop's usb port for power.

Some aren't made with an arduino uno, so if there's ever a new version of the software, it might be harder for you to update it. (Not that that's a necessary thing, the software is stable enough for reliable use, but some people might want new features.)

You can always try to splice the link cable into a Y link cable to (tempo) sync two gameboys to something else.

It depends on your equipment and what you wanna do with it.

Update: PMs have been sent

Shiny new and oh-so-rad netlabel deadblip records will be releasing this compilation!

There's a particular DIY sort of mentality that influences people familiar with chipmusic even in their non chip musical projects. That being said, I'd recommend spending some time on the forums for your DAW/tracker/whatever; on diy musician communities, etc.

Add me on facebook and I'll invite you to the Electronic Musician's Group on facebook, we talk and do compos and stuff, maybe you'll be interested in that?

SurfaceDragon you could play some blues with it wink

Thanks all, I'l just gonna stick with bgb. I don't play live very frequently but when I do it WILL be cool to have lsdj's visuals running.

Here's katsumbhong's thread, for the curious. http://chipmusic.org/forums/topic/14184 … oto-guide/

Glad to have you guys on board!

Edit: Guess what? Nitrotracker runs on the freeware version of no$gba (2.6). You can't save or load any files, but out-of-the-box you can use your system mic as the DS mic. Note that I didn't dldi patch nitrotracker.nds, since my flashcart does it automatically. You might get it to work after patching. So even if you don't have a DS handy, you might be able to participate if you can figure that out.

Well, here I am, I finally composed a song that refuses to play correctly on dmg (the poor thing struggles so much).

I'm looking for the best-sounding WAY (doesn't have to be a gameboy) to play back tunes that are too much for the old brick. I'm more interested in sample fidelity and a clean signal than "bassy sound".

I checked out Weixelbaum's page but it doesn't share information on other methods, such as the supergameboy (maybe even the supergameboy 2, if there's a difference), prosounded gbasp, gameyob on ds or rin on psp, or bgb's wav rendering.

How do the lsdj pros out there record their more complex songs?

There's a rule about pricing...

Yes, via a private soundcloud link or at my email.

The haps is that I want to give it at least one more week to get more musicians, so spread the word if you love nitrotracker!

The album will be released as a compilation album on bandcamp, with each song credited to their respective artist (to keep it simple, make sure your track is licensed creative commons. If unspecified, we'll simply assign a by-nc-sa license to it.

My track just needs a few more tweaks, and Alpine is done as well (You can submit two tracks, if you want), but think about the deadline being about a month from now. I'll PM everyone once I set that in stone, and then I'll pm again one week before the deadline.
