There's only one "save" you can have at once - either LSDJ or something else. You can't have both.

Vic is a real lazy fuck and just stands there with an apathetic look on his face after deftly touching the start button. S'how we all do it, isn't it?

1) There's a slight steady level of noise in the background when the song plays.  It sounds similar to the noise LSDJ outputs when nothing is playing (which also gets recorded, though that's fine) but is happening during the song itself.  I will see what I can do with audacity after the fact, but would love to be able to get a clear recording so that the original sound isn't altered..

Every recording gets this. Gameboys, not being engineered for crisp, clear music, have artifacts in the recordins, a la the noise you're hearing. Either invest in a prosound, or EQ out the noise (I think Voc Road said it was 2.4 khZ or something, but don't quote me on it).

Either that, or learn to love the buzz!

Mortimer Twang did some pretty cool downtempo swing-ish pieces, look up his amiga mod series 'suggestive vibes'. Not exactly jazz, but still in the general vibe, imo

this kind of thing is why i want to one day make a VST that emulates mp3/wma/m4a compression on a continuous scale, in lieu of a bitcrusher

That's actually not a bad idea...! I'm dead sure Aphex Twin uses compression artefacts in some of his tunes, and I've always wondered if he just rendered and compressed a small snippit of audio, or used a barrage of wacky effects
to emulate it.

Also, it wasn't the OP who wrote the tune, rather his channel that uploaded it. From what I've gathered.
I guess he just didn't want to be associated with this stuff; he realised the error of his ways

Holy hell that is bad. And not even remotely chip.

But this makes me think, maybe there's a place for the sonic equivalent of visual data moshing? Compressing things terribly just for the joy of the artifacts? Discuss.

I remember seeing somewhere - be it here or at 8bc - someone posted a utility that converts .lsdsng files to .mod tunes. Does anybody have any leads as to what it was called, who made it, or anything of the like? I'd really like to find this software again,
