Actually, the Flashback is not an AoaC.  Err, one of them anyways.  I'm pretty sure the same guy behind the 7800 expansion module designed an SMT chip using the original 2600 VHDL.  I think.

Pre ordered the CD!

I think the board these guys are using is what you're looking for, although I'm having a tough time finding the actual PCB or a parts list. As soon as I can afford a Nomad, I'll be wanting to jam one of these in mine, too.

Woah, woah!  Thanks for that link.  It's exactly what I've been looking for!  Hoping it's small enough.  Anyways, I ordered one.  I'll report back on my success or failure...

I think I'm going to this.  Pumped.

Quality quality quality!  Stoked for the 10th!

this would be great for visuals but maxconsole.com said the sound is messed up - no deal.

Very nice!  Fortunately, the screen replacement mod isn't too difficult.  I would be interested in how he achieved the internal battery though!

P.S.  Someone please make a surface mount CCAM board so I can pop them in my Nomads!

This is really neat!  I like the visualizer.  I like the intro but it does need to be shorter.  Perhaps a brief sound as well (ala little-scales youtube clips).

I have just swapped out the PSU on my 1040STe with a modern atx picoPSU.  I'll let you know if the sound is any better.  It would be really neat though to see a add on board that cleaned up the output and offered optional channel splits ala this.

Audio mods on the STe are really a tough nut though, YM and DMA + Microwire eeeeek

Yeah, just get kitsch's or ASM's clear ones.  I have kitsch ones and they are dandy!

This looks awesome.  Might use it to record my NSF's!

I dig it.  Love the LSDJ interface any day.  Please don't neglect the PSG channels though!

My PSP doesn't feels sluggish at all compared to other consoles.... but I have fatmsmod installed from back in the days.

I have no idea about it's current state and compatibility but it's definitely something to look at

That looks really nifty!  But also like a huge headache.  Looking to see if anyone installed it on a PSP 2000...

ha, not very easy.  Caanoo's look great but those are out of production too.

I'm thinking of moving away from the PSP because the loading times are starting to drive me nuts.  First of all, can any one comment on the sound quality of different handhelds?  I've heard stuff like the Dingoo has a noisy headphone out, PSP is cleanest, etc.  It would be really cool if someone took the time to do a group of comparison recordings. wink  A more definitive answer would be great.

Secondly, are there large differences in processing power between handhelds?  A few of my filter and OSC heavy tunes are starting to freeze up and even do some minor distortion glitches.  I guess using a desktop version would clear all this up but I want to stick with handheld (or pi) if possible.  Thanks!

IT'S MINE!
