@jefftheworld - Excellent! I've put the After Effects stuff up on mediafire here and I sent you a quick PM. Thanks!

Everyone is welcome to download the visualizer files, and the zip file includes a tutorial for configuring it as well (and Adobe provides a trial for After Effects CC).

@Alpine - Thanks for the offer! Just send me a quick email to [email protected] and we'll talk smile Also I think After Effects was using about 1.7-2 GB of memory for rendering and it took about 15-20 minutes to render out the video for a ~3 minute long song.

Just a quick bump to see if anyone has any feedback. If nobody responds, I suppose I'll just release the visualizer files and then shelf the channel for the school year.

Ypmid and myself started a collab track back in May and just recently finished it. We ended up with a 5 minute long shindig, composed entirely in LSDj which can be found here:

Ypmid & RSRM - Truncheon

Its currently a free download and I'd appreciate it if you guys would check it out and let us know what you think.

Cheers!

Hey Everyone,

I wanted to post an update about the Pulsewidth Music youtube channel. The end of summer is fast approaching for me, and once my school semester starts in about 2 weeks, I won't have free time to dedicate to rendering videos and managing the channel. Ideally I would like to have someone take over managing the channel so that content can still be posted, but I am doubtful that anyone will want to take over and also I am worried that the channel may be radically changed/broken if someone else takes over. That being said if people are interested in taking over management, please get in contact with me and we can talk about it.

Additionally, I have packaged up the *.aep file for the visualizer with a quick tutorial so those who want to render their own visualizers and have a copy of After Effects CC (you can download a trial for those who are interested) can do so. If people want the files, let me know and I can have them uploaded right away. I realize that giving out the visualizer makes it so the channel isn't anything special anymore, as anyone and their grandmother would be able render the videos, but I think that giving people the opportunity to make their own visualizers for any track they wish either for promotional purposes or otherwise is a bit more important.

Anyways, please leave some feedback and suggestions for what we should do with the channel and if you want the visualizer files to be posted or not.

Cheers!

I imagine it is possible, but I agree with e.s.c. in that it would be way easier just to use an accelerometer. It would just require a simple accelerometer and a microcontroller (and possibly a digital potentiometer if you wanted to use it with a pitchmod board). All you would need is the right parts and a bit of programming (to do it the way I mentioned, but there is probably another way as well).

@Alpine - Pulsewidth Music is in no way affiliated with PulsewavePromos. I don't think that channel was meant to rip off Pulsewidth, so I assume it is just a coincidence. I still think that the visualizer used over on the Pulsewidth channel looks better though haha

@donotrunwithpixels - Not a problem smile

Hey Everyone,

I did a remix for dualtrax's Super RobCo Disco Battle and just released it over the weekend. Check it out here and let me know what you think smile

Thanks!

@donotrunwithpixels - Got it just at the right time so it's being uploaded as we speak smile

@qb - I checked it out and it does look like I should be able to do it, so it's just a matter of going back and changing the older videos

@qb, @Brother Android - Yeah I understand where you are coming from, I'll see if there is something that can be done about the videos that are already uploaded, but I'm not sure I would want to re-render them all simply because of the large amount of time that would take. For the time being I will just leave the intro out of all future videos that I will render (which will be about half of the block that is going up tomorrow). Thanks for the feedback!

@qb - I suppose its just intended as a "branding" thing more than anything else, just so that all the videos have the intro sequence in common (as well as the visualizer style) to give a bit of familiarity between them all. I tried to keep it as short as possible, but I do understand that some people will find it annoying. I'm just not 100% sure how we could find a common ground between people who like and dislike it though.

@Feryl - Thank you, btw just rendering out your second song right now actually haha

Edit: Removed

@Monotron - Thanks! I'm rather happy with the way that it turned out as well

@qb - Any particular reason why? I could understand if you were listening to a bunch of songs in a row or something but I don't think there are enough videos up for that just yet.
