Nice I really enjoyed reading it. I actually learned a thing or two. Btw, has anyone actually considered writing a book about the history of chipmusic? Starting from day one of the gaming systems and computers production? It would be a cool thing to read I think. Have it all broken down into sections like chapters for Nintendo, Sega, and Amiga systems and then a miscellaneous section for the lesser common systems, covering a brief history of the systems and then how they are used in the production of music and visual effects. And the. Have a section of "how tos"for basic mods and stuff. Kind of like a quick education of the history of the scene and help beginners out or just a good read for people that are curious about the scene. I think it would be kind of fun to get a book going. And maybe even include some interviews from the guys that started it all.

Topic: Wanted: Black Dmg back (0 replies, posted in Trading Post)
Alright guys and gals I am looking for a black DMG back half of the shell. I have a yellow back I can trade for it including battery door. If anyone is down for the trade let me know. Or if you want a little more for the trade, because I know black cases are a little harder to come by at the moment just send me some counter offers.
Thanks for checking out the post and let me know.

I actually like this one a lot. I don't know about the pink backlight though. I have a pink backlight in one of my cases now and I never use it cause it hurts my eyes. I'd like to get my hands on that case though and dye it or hook it up with a bad ass reverse paint job and kitsch's clear start/select pad. . Might be in touch with you soon about it.

Re: swapping a gameboy color/lite to original gameboy (3 replies, posted in Nintendo Handhelds)
You can't backlight gameboy colors or gameboy advances. You can front light them. There's a difference though. Uhmm as for swapping the screen and keeping the internals the same it's also not possible but you can put a pocket screen in a DMG but it takes a lot of work. However I can give you the email of a guy that can put a gameboy advance sp into an original gameboy case for you but it'll cost about 350$ lol message me on fb if you are interested. Any questions you have man you can ask me on fb.

Hey man you need to post it as something like "Wanted: 64mb USB Cart" people are going to click on it thinking you are selling a gameboy or looking for a gameboy. Everyone here knows what USB cart is. If someone has one they will hook you up. Also read the trading rules or people will get onto you and your post will get shut down for not having the right header and stuff. Btw this is Tatum lol. And good luck!

Re: My Custom DMGs (Update: GreenBoy Backlight) (31 replies, posted in Nintendo Handhelds)
I guess technically is a Clock style rather than "Steampunk" to be honest. I usually post it as "Clock/SteamBoy", Just didn't feel like typing it this time. And to be honest this dye job was my first try on a clear case and I dyed it with black dye hoping it would give me a very dark case that could barely be seen through unless I case lit it. Original goal was a clear black case with clear buttons, Green Leds behind the buttons and a green backlight. But it turned out a Dr. Pepper color. I honestly hated it with a passion. I was very pissed it didn't turn out how I had hoped. It sat on my "shelf of shame" for quite some time, then I saw Thretris' Steam Punk Gameboy and it gave me the idea, "what if some one did something kinda similar with a clear boy, that would be cool" and I looked at the case and said what the hell, I'd give it a shot. And yes I've seen LOADS of shit people have done with gears glued on it and it looked really really tacky and horrible. I actually wanted to make all the gears attach with little pistons with little hole drilled in the case so they could actually rotate freely and hopefully hook them to a pitch shift knob so they would rotate when the pitch shift was rotated, but finding a drill bit that is that small is freaking impossible so that dream was thrown out the window. I was able to make some free moving parts though, which I think helps it be more unique. The watch hands near the select button move along with the knob above the screen and a few others parts as well. The speaker area is my favorite with the little month dial from a pocket watch that fit in there perfectly makes it look kinda vintage to me. I honestly like how it turned out. It's a great social piece, and I think it stands out from other "Steampunk" mods that have been done in the past. The other thing that I think is freaking hilarious is it actually matches the Skull Candy "Aviator" Headphones perfectly, which my sister owns, and every time I'm at her house I use them to compose with while wearing her top hat and sitting in a corner. We all have things that make us a dork, that's one of mine. lol
And yes I painted all the text by hand, along with the buttons you are so fond of. And the reason the prosound is on the front instead of the bottom is honestly just because I wanted to make it a little more unique and the way I hold a gameboy it's not in the way at all. I actually installed it on the bottom first and didn't like it there on this particular DMG, and luckily I happened to have a watch knob that snapped in the old hole perfectly lol.
And thank you for the compliment on the GreenBoy. I actually just ordered a green backlight from kitsch about 30 minutes ago to get it almost finished. Then I'll be saving up to buy a board mounted prosound from Apeshit.
Also, I appreciate the CC, to be honest you're the first person to criticize it in any way, in the whole 9 months I've been posting about it lol. I honestly thought the first negative CC I'd ever get on this thing would be about the hand painted lettering lol.
Thanks for the comments man.

Re: Tie dye a Gameboy? (12 replies, posted in Nintendo Handhelds)
Maybe with kitsch new cases coming out there will be a one of a kind section like his buttons that are basically mixed colored plastics poured into one mold that would be cool to see. That's something you'd want to ask him about. I don't know currently what's going on with those. As for tie dyeing a case..not to sure about that. I was actually asked just a few days ago by a friend on face book if it would be possible an I told him no not it the traditional since of tie dye but a paint job could be done to do it. Using similar techniques that apeshit and kitsch have mentioned above. Both teqniques are tricky and would be hard considering the "dust catchers" on the back of a DMG. But even if you screw it up it would still probably turn out with something pretty badass.
