Thank you for the in-depth advice, Vex. I really appreciate it! I think I'm going to knock out the 1/8"s in these 2 boys, and work on 1/4"s when the Kitsch cases come out. Not sure If I have a need for clocked boys right now. BUT I know a few guys who might have an interest in that gameboy of yours. I'll let you know!

No problem man. I've only been in the chipscene for maybe 2 years starting with paint jobs but I dabble in modding from time to time and I read A LOT lol and ask questions all the time. I talk to my buddy George from modolith.com on a daily basis asking him questions and learning stuff. I talk to NeX from time to time with my more crazy ideas. Both of these guys are badass modders. So I've learned a lot. I also have learned a few things myself because I have a very I WANT SOMETHING THAT HASNT BEEN DONE BEFORE attitude. Not to mention my past with music with guitars and drums and keyboards I learned a lot about audio during that time.

And thank you for talking to some guys that might want my gameboy. Definitely appreciate that. xD

Yea man that's happened to me countless times. Most of them before i ever learned how to back up my stuff on the comp so i lost 20 songs and gave up writing for almost 6 months because of it. As for fixing that one song I do not know a way. I've had corrupt files happen and you just have to delete them. Ive notice it happen more so when im near 67/BF blocks used which is only about 7 tracks I think. Also the more complex a songs wav channel is, I've noticed major issues with the 64MB carts, this may just be coincidence but eh. It feels that way.

Well I don't have any advice for you except get in the habit of backing up often and making multiples, I actually back mine up almost everyday I touch my cart just as a safety precaution and definitely when a track is done. Best of luck man.

Wow nice one, coming across the one crazy guy with deep pockets xD

The other thing about 1/4 inch jacks is you can find 10-15 foot long guitar cords at any music shop for about $10 as a 1/8th to 1/8th run about $10 for a 5 footer from walmart or radioshack. Also its the most commonly found hook up found at studio or places you would play a gig. Yes you can also buy a 1/8th-1/4 inch adapter jack but during live shows if you move around alot you may have an issue with it falling out easily due to the weight of the cord or lose signal in left or right due to it becoming loose or starting to slide out. My best advice would be have one 1/4 inch jack zoned for left only and one for right only. it would be a badass mod and probably give you the best durability over all and best sound quality. Down side is you would have to relocate the power regulator as Apeshit said above just for one of them and if you go the route of doing two youd more than likely have to sacrifice your speaker. Also keep in mind Kitsch is working on custom built DMG cases which by the looks of them will be a lot more kind to the cramming of two 1/4th inch jacks.

My opinion on other mods is with a pitch shift, even if you turn it all the way down, you gameboy will never be at normal speed..its always a little faster, making syncing two LSDJ carts together nearly impossible. However when it comes to a half-clock mod I consider it worth it especially if you do a lot of beats focusing on bass.

Now for the self promoting, if you are looking for a unique DMG with a backlight, 1/8th prosound and a pitch shift, which is for higher pitched songs, I have one for sale you can check out. Leave a comment or PM me if you are interested in it. I'm really needing to get rid of it because I'm going to use the money I make off it to rebuild a new one but with a half clock instead because I do stuff with more bass than high pitch melodies and I'd like to pass this beauty to more worthy hands.

If you can hold onto your best greyboy shell with battery cover. I'll give you $10 for it alone. I wont need screws or any other parts just the shell. And i might grab that Red and White boy for 25-30$ if it has a matching back too if it hasnt sold.

Ah, I forgot about that. You're in the US right? How's $55 shipped?

Damn thats not bad I'd pay quite a bit more for them. That red and white case on the bottom is worth 30$ to me by itself, if it has a matching back.

Not that.I have the money, but I'd be willing to pay at least $120 bucks for this, at least. Probably more if was actually going to buy it. That's a smoking peice of handiwork.

Thanks man, yea that sounds about right to me too. I put about 95$ into for the mods if memory serves me right. And I think about 20$ for the case and the buttons I took from a NES controller which sadly no longer works. And i was thinking maybe $20+ for the paint job for the time spent on it. I was thinking around $130-$170 would be about worth it. Thanks again for the comment. Nice to know I'm not to far off guestimation wise.

A few recent project updates.

First the Green Boy:

featuring a green power LED, diffused because when I turned it on it literally blinded me in my left eye.
and green LED behind Start/Select bars
green backlight to come and pcb mounted prosound by Apeshit...once I get around to buying them. lol

Second, The SteamBoy or ClockBoy:

I've shown this thing off quite a bit because I'm very proud to be the owner and creator of this thing.
Reason I'm posting pics of it again now is because I ordered a orange backlight and a new gold screen for it from kitsch-bent and I'm looking forward to having them both in just a few days. I actually already have the screen ready to put the backlight in. All i have to do it slap the backlight in and solder it and it will be done. And I'm seriously hoping the gold screen matches well...if not I'll be buying a silver one..lol. Might buy a silver one just to have multiple screens i can change between. Updated pictures to come once the backlight gets here. xD

thanks again guys and let me know what you think

Haha that's awesome. I love this show. "~knock-knock~ PENNY!? ~knock-knock~ PENNY!? knock-knock~ PENNY!?"

Don't know why but I love that scene.

He isn't flaming, he's simply telling you to follow the rules of the board.

I was pre-anticipating a flame war. And may have prevented it with above comment. However this is the full rule posted under the same bullet in the set of rules for trading.

Trading Post Rules wrote:

"- Indicate prices on items you are selling.  If you are trying to auction it off put it on ebay and put a link to the sale here."

As previously said I am NOT trying to auction this gameboy off I am simply trying to get a price quote/ estimate, therefore I feel I am not breaking this rule. I have read all of the rules for posting and am quite familiar with them. As it is there is NO place to post a "might be up for sale eventually" or a "price check" Forum page that I am aware of, I chose to put it here. Why is this such a problem? I'm not a dick or a mean guy I'm actually quite a laid back nice guy, but this is driving me nuts. Why not accept the post for what it is and give me some price estimates? If not leave the post alone because obviously it doesn't pertain to you.

Also as said previously, IF/when I decide to sell it, this post will be removed and added to my FOR SALE post I have. As it is not for sale at the moment I do not want it in my FOR SALE post. Is this not reasonable?

Sorry if I come across as a dick or something for this but I honestly don't feel I'm in the wrong here. And also stated previously an admin can correct me if they feel I am in the wrong. Though now it may just be removed because of the problem it seems to be causing because people aren't understanding "Price check on aisle seven".

And also decide whether you want to sell it.

Oh yay..you're one of those guys. I think this is a reasonable post. Yes it's true I'm not sure I want to sell it. But I'm not auctioning it off either. I'd put this in "General Discussion" but it didn't seem like the appropriate place.

I'm not exactly sure I want to sell it which is why I'm not putting a price and I'm asking people to leave comments on price estimates they would pay if they were to buy this. If they happen to be interested in purchasing this one in particular, I ask them to let me know and I may contact them at a later date to see if they are still interested in buying it.

This is strictly a "hey look a this thing, how much would you be willing to pay for it?", "Oh youre actually interested in this one?", "cool, i'll let you know if I decide to let it go"

If I do decide to sell it before anyone says anything I will remove this post and add it to my FOR SALE post. But as of now I am not 100% sure i want to let it go so here this post will stay.

I feel that rule pertains to people trying to "auction" their stuff which I am not doing. I am just trying to get a price estimate to help me decide if I want to sell it which I think is reasonable enough.

If an admin has an issue with this post they can delete if they want to. I feel I am doing nothing wrong here by asking price suggestions, with the possibility of selling.

Now sir, do you have a price estimate? If not, please do not flame this post.

I might be interested in buying all of those clear cartridge cases i just need to get my paypal working right again. changed my home address 2 days ago and its messing everything up for me. 15$ for all of them cool?
