Last.fm is much better, and I think Grooveshark has a radio feature.

WizWars:  DO IT DO IT DO IT I wanna see how much of the Handheld Heroes roster we can get together in one place.

Any of you New Yorkers who haven't had the pleasure of seeing Sievert like 8 times... you have no idea.  No idea.  It's about time this happened, though.  GO SPACE CAPTAIN!

Chip music's tweets, while nearly useless, always make me smile.

Earthworm controlled synth? Crazy.

Stuff suggested in this thread I had really been digging:
Giorgio Moroder, Jean Michael Jarre, Cluster, Space, Laser Dance, mike hankinson

There is already an app for creating OSC-sending interfaces on iPhone OS, and probably midi too.  No need to hack an iPad, unless you want all the other awesome things that come with that.

I already have an iPod touch & don't need or care for it to be bigger.

So lately I've been trying to broaden my musical horizons; a large part of this is trying to listen to lots of earlier electronic music (before dance music was the most well known form of electronic music, before most chipmusic).  I'm mostly interested in the 1960-1985 period.  I've been doing some research, but aside from the more famous stuff (kraftwerk, Wendy Carlos, Brian Eno, etc.), I'm a bit at a loss as to what is still really worth finding & listening to in this day and age.

I'm interested more in classical/ Ambient/noise oriented stuff in this vein.

Anybody have suggestions / care to discuss?

Pixy, I, like IAYD, wish I could help.  I do know there is a guy named Michael Dufault or something like that that lives in the area, he released something near the end of last year. Search 8bc if you care.

Other than that, I don't know... Damn the size of Texas.  You coming down for SXSW?

I played with 8BK-OK, Sievert, Starpause, and IAYD @ the highball in Austin back at the end of November.  It was probably the most fun I'd had all year before blip.  SnuGG beautifully documented it all, it's all over Vimeo.
I was super nervous because I had to open, but everything went well, and everybody killed it during their sets.  We got free fancy food & alcohol, & we even got paid.  Plus I made awesome new friends.

So will I get even more 'guchi than last SXSW? Cause that was an awesome part of my week

@Herr_prof: prosound.  I do not notice noise at all in my mixes, no noise gate.

I multitrack everything lately, synced manually to a reference point at the beginning and end of each track.
I have only had sync problems with songs 7:00+ minutes long w/ lots of tempo changes, but it worked well in the end.  MIDI is not needed.
This has been very fruitful, it allows for lots of tweaking.
