excellent sounds and percussion, something about the mix is flat and muddy though. a good release though!

been listening to this lots recently, i really like his sounds.
My one peice of advise is use that shit subtly. I really hate hearing amateur recordings that are drowning in too much reverb, people quite often do it with their vocals and it sounds horrible.
I have the same problem, it sounds ok on my crappy home speakers but as soon as I put listen through my nice headphones it sounds like its recorded in a fucking public lavatory.
waaa not heard that covox track, fucking nice bass line.
@Jellica: Well I'm still figuring out the C64. What I really like is the Mssiah monosynth. But that's a monosynth, you can't do a whole track with it. I could get a second c64 and another mssiah cart and use sequencer on one and monosynth on the other... but I liked the idea of addin something with a different sound to the setup. Anyway, generally speaking you have a point, maybe I should think less about buying gear...
seriously the C64 is fucking perfect, get a decent tracker and explore that baby a whole lot. its a bit fucking uncontrolable and random at first but persevere, that filter and ring mod are loverly and try multispeed for those tight sounds.
I think that a more important question is do you know how to use what equipment you have already?
i wouldnt think of expanding what you have until you know how to use that C64 properly, its pretty damn versatile.
if you desparately need ideas for sounds (!!??!!???!!!???!?!) then get on kitch's sav vault and get some sounds from the savs.
its certainly interesting, but i'd like to hear somthing a bit more interesting than suzanne vega
theres a lot of songs out there with the same bassline.
i am just facinated by bass though.
my songs have no melody. agg.
i quite often just find myself using someone elses bassline, but basslines dont matter do they?
edit: grammah myself
this sounds hilarious through my emulator!
im pretty damn sure im not influenced by metallica in any way, i hope the midi files work out ok, you should be about to transpose all the main parts to lsdj quite easily
looking for midi files of these classic soundtrack would probably help you a lot.
just sent the funds for the HardSID UPlay, I'll let you know how I get on.
im getting it with the 8580 and my brother has a bunch of dead c64s that i can hopefully rob of their 6581s
