I can read music. I actually prefer the sheet music interface over tracker, piano-roll, etc.

I couldn't imagine why a "non-scene" sheet music reading musician wouldn't be able to make sense out of a tracker, since it's just the names of the notes. Seems pretty straight-forward to me.

you can see the names of notes but unless you press play or use the program for a bit you have no reference point for note lengths, articulation or even the instrument that's gonna play the notes. if you're someone with no knowledge of trackers then watching a tracker play through a song will allow you to intuitively figure out that some things do things, but i don't think you'd understand exactly what they're doing at face value.

it's like how i can't read sheet music but when i watch my girlfriend use sibelius it all kinda makes sense in that

We find a lot of those people in this scene.  and by technical - i don't necessarily think that has to even include the ability to read.  who cares really.  its all sound in the end.

word. i don't think there are many traditional sight readers (outside of the "scene") who can look at a song file in a tracker and make any kind of sense out of it.

i can look at sheet music and figure it out, but i never understood why people though that was a better method than just memorizing how to play something. aint no pages to turn in your mind.

it's so people who can read it don't have to spend time memorizing it

nonono if you want avant-garde you need to devise your own system of notation and write symmetrical microtonal pieces for a cor anglais trio

or y'know, just be morton feldman

btw i can't sight read music lol

Check your PMs, also maybe find an English proofreader's forum because they could help a lot more than most of us (even English speakers tongue)

this is cool you can "literally make it sound like any old arcade game" with the NES / Game Boy hardware!

it's neat, the arcade buttons would feel pretty dreadful for keyboard players though. liking the open-sauce and big ups to "the community" (whatever that means!)

anyway $325 canadian sand dollars for a unique-looking 2 octave midi keyboard & synth that also doubles as a keytar - bit pricey but it looks and sounds better than a shs-10 imo (bit cheaper than a mint shs-10 too)

i probably wouldn't buy it though lol

a lot at an auction is whatever is being sold at the time, it can be a set of items or just one
all those re-runs of bargain hunt were good for something after all!

yeah something small enough to just put in my bag would be nice but i dunno, this thing's price and marketing spin doesn't sit right with me!
