you can use a delay plugin at 16:00 with full decay to do just 1-bar overdub recording.

yeah not exactly the same thing but i guess you could use this method for a round or crescendo of sorts. could even use the old fruity delay plugin and set the tempo to half/quarter time, then you effectively have a 2 or 4 bar delay. still a pain to set up and quite limited compared to proper loop recording, though.

punching in might be possible and i'm just a goose. i've been using FL for 10 years and it surprises me how often i find out some new feature that's been in the program since forever!

btw: i use FL to record and mix my lsdj stuff.

there are some things about recording in FL that kinda annoy me. you can't make it punch-in automatically, doesn't loop record etc.
all that stuff doesn't matter if you're recording tracker music though, i suppose!

didn't even spell tom milsom's name right

the gamecube adapter is supposed to sound pretty good and apparently you don't have to worry about slowdown at all either.

i haven't tried one myself though so this is just what i've read

oh cool, i can really dig that it fits a mission statement of sorts - also suprisingly cohesive as a release which is always a plus in my books.

I think it's hard for youngun's like myself to properly appreciate the technical wizardry behind these because we all have our heads in our game dude's and our lsdj's and what have you.

More specifically, the IDM kinda thing (for lack of a better expression) isn't everyone's cup of joe, y'know? Spider is 100% my jam though, so I think the rest of the tracks will grow on me.

Sometimes I wonder if the predominant use of common time and driving rhythms in chiptune is because the tracker interface and composition style more readily lends itself to that kind of production, or if it's tradition held over from the sort of people who think it would be really cool if they made their game boy play songs that they've written.

if i could change the length of phrases more easily in LSDJ so that i didn't need to put a million H commands down i'd probably write a lot more stuff in odd time - but i just make music i feel like making anyway.
