I do believe you fulfill your design rules incredibly well tongue

I've actually got a sweet plan to change up my site already, which will probably be complete within a few days...

Yeah, my mother's family is from the Himalayas so they have an empty house there.

That's... fucking amazing.

Natty, that's really interesting.  The Himalayas, really?  Intense.  Do you have any plans for the material you did put together, however incomplete?

I could write for it, though I have zero experience writing for any publications.  I could write concert & album reviews, or little experiments in chip theory & culture.

print version would be more difficult but also way more rad.

http://chipflip.wordpress.com/  <-- would be a valuable source of info in this endeavour

again, sorry for the initial skepticism/negativity.  it just seemed out of the blue. writing a book is a big undertaking. best of luck though, and if there ever is an english version, it would be rad.

umm ok... did you just decide this one day?  Have you accumulated references... research... where are you going with this?

Haters always gunna hate.

Anyway sounds like a cool idea smile

I'm not hating.  Just look at the first post.  Barely anything is said or explained.  That's all.

I guess I'm skeptical.  Sorry!  I shouldn't be negative.

Btw, I would buy a good book on chip music in a second.

Before I get to the point of this post:

I've started going to school at Concordia University in Computation Arts and as a requirement (for most courses in the program apparently) students have to keep a site where they post assignments and other classwork related things.

So I finally decided now was the time to buy the domain battlelava.com and start a legit website.  I chose Blue Host for hosting.  Along with the site  I also set up a wordpress blog: battlelava.com/blog.  That's mostly the school part.

The point of this post: Design choices.

As of now the site is very new and simple but I would love any considerations from any/all of you as it grows and even as of now.  Let me know what you think, and let's just talk about web design in general too, 'cause I feel like I want to have a lot fo fun with this :>

If anyone cares at all about how I operate, or how to get shows in Australia this is how... I am tight with a few venue bookers (mainly warehouses) a few events directors and a few genre-savvy promoters in the cities I tend to play in. That way, I can literally say "hey, I am keen to play somewhere around this date, what can we do?" and something tends to happen.

This is how I get any non-Toy Company show in MTL, except I am not even tight with venue bookers- I just approach them.

If you wanna play in MTL you make friends with the TC crew though, 'cause they're the best right now for a chip music show.

But, hey, Decktonic, I have a buddy who makes a living completely off of dj'ing.  Know how he started?  Doing one free gig after another until shit fell together.  At first, you really shouldn't need an agency to book shows.  I wouldn't ever contact an agency unless I was gonna tour another country, or something in that respect... but maybe that's just me.  Of course, I'm not a DJ, so that comes into play also...

I thought checking out other people's work was a given for learning & improving & fun.  But ok.

I put up a song just now: http://lsdsng.com/song/metal-arm
