I also have C64, at the beginning i used normal composite RF out, but audio is really in bad quality, then i got grounded audio / s-video cable from retro computer shack (england) with gold connectors and quality is excellent (for s-video i use that common s-video to vga black box converter which does convertion acceptable to my vga/hdmi 24" samsung led monitor at right settings), at dualsid i believe very excellent is https://www.sidfx.dk, but i personally dont need another sid, even for example defMON supports it, because i am afraid to modify my C64G, it is in excellent condition, i have luck to get that one from czech republic and was used from 1991 upon my purchase maybe 5-times, so it was almost new smile))

What happened to this FM Composer's website? I occasionally looked at this tracker because i want to go deeper into FM synthesis-tracker, and this tracker looks very good, i downloaded latest update probably a year ago, but there is no manual and i wanted to know info about multitimbrality (how many simultaneous instruments can be used in that 24-voice polyphony) so yesterday i tried to visit fmcomposer.org for more info and website is empty smile

If i want to be more exactly, i am pretty impressed by Jesper Kyd's Batman&Robin Sega chiptunes so i also want to experiment with fm synthesis in more that way than with classic fm sounds, so i am slowly preparing to give maybe one month to this tracker instead of defMON. If is this tracker abandoned, nevermind, i will try to discover its limits by myself smile

Wow, this is really good album! One of the best in this genre or mix of genres i have ever heard, good luck. I also think that you can sell a lot of copies with proper promo. smile

If you know basics of trackers, you will understand LSDJ very quickly, because it is very well designed. It also have help section right in the app which you can read and understand in no time, maybe only commands section needs to be visited more if you dont use them very often.

Aside of this, there is hundreds of chiptune trackers to choice from, so it is hard to tell what you can use, but in Germany was also pretty big Commodore scene, so why not to download free Vice C64 emulator and some trackers like defMON, later when you make some cash you can also buy real Nintendo Gameboy/Commodore 64, i can guarantee you will enjoy it a lot more than emulators.

2613 pages? This is impressive, i am not very much into FM synthesis, started on Amiga 1200 with non-realtime app FMsynth, later i purchased Yamaha DX200 desktop synth which was pretty impressive, because you can control things as amp/filter envelope, lfo, filters and even change of algorithm in real-time! And i occasionally use NI FM7, Dexed or Sytrus.

Quite funny thing is that, when i used FM sounds in my tracks, my friends or colleagues from vgm industry said that FM patches sounds outdated, so i never used much of them. But now is different situation, because at NAMM was presented OS 4.00 update for Kurzweil Forte, which adds 6-operators FM engine ( https://soundcloud.com/garganigostephan … ngine-demo ) so i am mainly interested in those more complex sounds, but which of them are 6-op?

Edit: oh i see informations when i click on the patch, nice!

I don't expect to have export to .sid here, because it have 4th channel and some non-standard things like combining of any waveforms. I very like that you can play tune and on 4th channel if you dont use it for pattern, then you can live jam on it, but latency is here hearable. Perhaps that 4th channel could be probably used to copy with some latency main lead channel (echo/delay), this could be really cool, also in Hively Tracker tunes often uses 4th channel for echo, but patterns must be manually copied to next (with some lines inserted before start of melody).

There is also some non-standard things like patterns are for example from 00 to 0K (which is some more than 0F in hexa), at the beginning you see instruments/effects from A to L and there is no arrows to add next, but if you click at Instr. (up) it shows you entire table from A-Z, @, 0-9, ... so there is a lot of space.

But as i said earlier, it is very good tracker for Android smartphone, i like it!

Hello, i must promote this good C64-like tracker for Android devices, although i use now mostly for chiptune defMON (C64/Vice C64), Sidtracker 64 (iPad), nanoloop mono/LSDj (Nintendo) i searched a week ago for chiptune tracker on Google Play and i found this tracker Fake SID, which is surprisingly really good.

I know Android is forever bad platform, because there is still relatively big latency for realtime audio, but with this tracker i have no problems. Maybe month ago i searched for C64 emulator on Android to run defMON, but smartphone screen is really small for this and even some emulators don't have keyboard layout i need to use it and on iPad is emulators forbidden.

You may ask me why i use tracker on Android, so i can explain it pretty easy, because i don't always bring outside/to work iPad and even if i do, sometimes during travelling is full bus so i don't have space to take out iPad and work in Sidtracker 64, but for example my Lenovo K6 Note's display is not that small, it could be also used for some creative things.

I varied a lot of things based on main theme and a lot of patterns was added due to transposition, because there is no live transpose of pattern like in other editors, but i never finish another that complex tune in defMON because it is really better on live programming and unusual things. It is my first defMON tune and i started it like standard chiptune. I smiled almost to death yesterday when i added 7F, 80, 81.... patterns during playback and whoaaa... what is going on??? In manual i didn't noticed max number of patterns so i expected to have it FE, because FF is always sign of end of tune, then i visited Chordians comparision of C64 music editors http://chordian.net/c64editors.htm and i see that defMON have 128 patterns which is in hexadecimal that #80 (respectively #7F because first is #00).

Tune is standard default speed 125 bpm because i have to synchronize it with another half of song in Sidtracker 64 on iPad, which was made earlier.

I also realized that i very like on Gameboy in LSDJ concept with song/chain with transpose/block, because i don't need to remember all those patterns when arranging main song. It could be hell if i change major things and move patterns. smile But of course pattern per channel is more memory-savvy, which is crucial mainly on 8-bit computers.

Today i finished my Demobit tune in defMON smile but i reached #80 (in hexadecimal) sequences/patterns per channel, it is not enough and it is ordinary tune with timing 2:48, it is possible to extend sequences to FE? (FF is the end of tune)

I am occasionaly playing great SNES game Secret of Mana (i also have it on iPad but i dont like blured non-sharp pixels due to resampling/resize) and its soundtrack is one of the best soundtracks i have ever heard, so yesterday i searched all available SNES trackers, but none of them support *.spc import, but i have found spc2it converter, so i converted some of Secret of Mana OST tunes and it sounds to my ears almost same as original, it is basically 8-channel PCM sample playback, but SNES have some sort of surround and in modplug tracker is channels doubled to 16 and speed is very quick. But i am glad that i can see how was tracks written.

This tracker looks good, i looked yesterday mainly to instrument section which i quickly understood, i also knew that SNES can play Game boy games with Super Game Boy, but as i see now this is complete DMG-01 on this adapter, so DMG-01's sound capabilities cannot be added.

I don't use Google but Yahoo, only when i upload video to YouTube i login (i can use my yahoo email login so gmail is not necessary), but at most time i am logged out. At work we transfered commercial e-mail and its services (with Jira) to Google, but i use only for this Chrome and not Safari, and at home it is same, i am not logged, because i don't need to be (to use google services like search or maps). Only thing i am signed pernamently to is yahoo mail app in my phone.

According to that captcha, once upon a time i created forum for keyboarders (later it was merged with a bigger forum and it was created mainly to support launch of Kurzweil PC3 series of workstations) i also have had problems with bots or robots, but since i used nice trick with reverse captcha i never meet another bot/robot problem.

i enter during my login only my user name and password, i skip captcha with no problemo...

Great music, but video is hardstyled even for me as for horror fan ;-)

Amiga’s 8-bit (or 14-bit when channels are paired) soundchip Paula have Pulse Code Modulation principle so it is sample-based (none native waveforms), trackers with synthetic sounds use main CPU to calculate them, but of course you can use sampled waveforms and realtime commands including arpeggio so literally thousands of chiptunes was produced also on Amiga.

I typed philip glass chiptune in google, but what it found is more known Prophecies:

I also doubt if that mentioned part is sampled, rather it is rewritten from scratch, because i never heard sampling in chiptunes smile
