I make all my music with plugins/samples in FL Studio. It's just the easiest option for someone who can't afford hardware. I've recently obtained LSDJ and run it on an emulator and it's kind of a bummer to do it that way. It would probably be fun just sitting outside or anywhere jamming out a track on a gameboy, and eventually I wanna be able to do that, but it's all pretty irrelevant. If you make good music who cares? there are people who make amazing tracks with no hardware, and people who make horrible tracks with no hardware, and the same goes for people who use gameboys or any instruments for that matter.

yeah i wanna know how you came to this conclusion, given that there's already an A in BACH
Probably because in the alphabet H is after G, and on an instrument A is after G. He's not the only one I've seen make this conclusion, and if someone asked me I probably would have made the same mistake.

My 2 rules are:
1. If it sounds right, it is.
2. If it sounds a little off, close enough.
Edit: Bonus Rule: If it sounds good, better add some glitches.

I have no idea what half the things you guys are saying mean. I suck.

Re: webshow? (16 replies, posted in General Discussion)
It doesn't even have to be live if you string a bunch of PVs and make episodes with regularity.
Live is a plus, though.
It'd be cool if someone/you guys set up a site where you would have like a weekly pre-recorded performance (a la Henry Homesweet's Lo-Bit Basement videos) and maybe a once a month live show with a few different artists every month. Or even just like a "chiptune web series" and have episodes with a few live performances of singles, concert footage, music video, interviews, etc. Whatever happens I will tune in, just throwing some ideas in the air.

I'm gonna throw rap vocals over all the songs for my listening pleasure. I love this release, awesome job man. Idk why people hate on you, I love hedgehogs.

I use Plogue Chipsounds, so I can't say how to create an LSDJ equivalent. On my song I layered a SID chip and AY-3-8910 for the pad, so I'm gonna assume it will be very hard if not impossible to get the same sound in LSDJ. Sorry I can't help really.

I'm just going to leave this video here:
Hahahahaha this is hilarious.
I'd also like to thank everyone for not disregarding me or being dicks to me just because I don't use actual hardware or anything. I just got LSDJ rom last week so I'm starting to learn, but I know some people think there is less legitimacy in the music if it wasn't made with actual gaming systems or trackers or whatever, and for at least ignoring the fact or looking past it, I appreciate/love all of youz.
PS. For the record I use Plogue Chipsounds for all my chippy stuff.

I love all of you and everyone in this scene because having made other kinds of music and being deeply involved in other music scenes, none felt as fulfilling and welcoming as the chipmusic thing. All of you inspire me to write better music, and before joining here and making my way into the scene slowly I was miserable. Chipmusic, the scene and site, has made me go from hopeless and depressed to genuinely happy.

a cool blip tribute would be like the blip 08 compilation, but all the best performances from every blip. now if only someone could go back in time and record those in high quality.

I just watched Reformat the Planet earlier and came on to this news. I will be depressed forever, and when I die the eulogy will be "he only regretted one thing in life, not going to blipfest"
