No idea if what you're looking for is there, but these are the usual suspect places for finding kits:

http://gbdev.gg8.se/files/musictools/LSDj/Kits/
http://lsdsng.com/kits
http://milkcrate.com.au/_other/downloads/lsdj_kits/

I think it's very unlikely that this error would be caused by your browser configuration. More likely, it was just a random fluke. If you keep seeing the same error, it's probably because the page with the error is cached. try refreshing the page and see if the error disappears.

fwiw i don't use a prosounded gb and a software noise gate works a treat (not a "noise cancellation" process, just a simple gate). i also notch out the 9.25K overtone with a parametric EQ.

Now that you mentioned it, I thought of the idea to calculate an exact value. I ended up with about 9198 Hz. The LCD refresh rate is very close to 59.7275 Hz. That comes from 4194304/70224, the CPU clock frequency divided by the number of cycles it takes for one screen refresh to be performed. Then multiply that by 154, the number of "virtual" vertical lines on the LCD, 144 lines + the equivalent of 10 lines in the vertical blanking period. And nevertheless, the empirical value I'm getting from recording a DMG is clearly situated a bit above 9.2 kHz. Hmm!

One of those lucky coincidences. Like when someone figured out that one of Ikea's shelves was perfect for fitting 19" rack gear.

It's not necessarily from me, since there's only a handful of my mods with PCB mount pro sound in the wild. But I can certainly repair it either way. If time permits, I'll do it at cost of shipping.

Wow, that would be really super cool of you! Should I PM you?

He has actually stated previously that he prefers e-mail (click the e-mail link on his profile page after clicking his name) or the ASM Retro contact form. Sending a PM here doesn't generate an e-mail, so someone won't see their PM before they visit the site.

Work is proceeding in the background. The project is not dead!

As for the question about Nanoloop support:
1.0-1.2 should work already. I have secured access to a 1.5 cartridge, and support will be added. I'm still looking for a NL 1.3 cart, if someone has one I can borrow for research. I can't find any pictures of the insides of a NL 1.3 cart unfortunately, but it's supposed to be batteryless, and also different from the following, which is a NL 1.5.

There is not. LittleFM's mode was, in turn, meant to be compatible with the transfer mode implemented in Nanoloop's MIDI adapter. I could of course implement your protocol if you send me a specification, or just a ROM that I can reverse engineer.

LittleFM can send/receive 128 kiB of data straight without any handshaking. The sending side is always master. Can the linker send/accept this format?

Guilty. I asked him to show the serial number (which he added as a photo) then I sent him a response with which year I thought the unit was made, based on my collected data about DMGs. In this message I also told it was overpriced and told him to watch that video.

Really though, I think he's just hoping for a donation in disguise for his engagement ring.

I jumped right on it... and sent him this video:

What happens if you disconnect the button? Then the repeated flashing should stop if nothing else is wrong. Also can you confirm HOW trhe switch is connected, and how the resistor is connected? Also, which value the resistor is. You must test this with the power turned off for the reading to be accurate. (Assuming you're using a multimeter.) Otherwise, what are the color of the bands on the resistor?

Could we have a description of your wiring and/or a picture of how it looks currently?

The problem might be that facebook does auto translate.

What? Facebook offers translation links everywhere, but I don't think I've seen, or heard anything about them doing it preemptively, without the user's knowledge.

I think most sites that are any smaller than Google or Facebook etc have chosen to not do any kind of auto translation. It's likely both costly to keep it running, and bad enough quality that it's not worth it.

I can think of two reasons why the conversation went smoother here though.
1) Since the PMs here are not expected to be a realtime conversation, you can take your time, which probably helps. On Facebook, you may feel compelled to answer as quickly as possible after the ding.
2) Maybe the conversation on Facebook was less technical like you said? Maybe the person has learnt some of the technical terms in English because he first saw those terms in English, or because they are similar to the English equivalent in his native language. On the other hand, just regular words needed for a regular conversation might be more difficult.

You mean the user interface or the posts? Either way, the answer is no on both counts. But if you use Chrome, you can use the built-in function to translate pages on the fly.

Neil Baldwin describes some of it here (for NES):
http://dutycyclegenerator.com/

Basically as far as I know, in the early days, you would either write your own engine or use the in-house engine of the company. Nowadays, there are a couple of publicly available choices of music engines, like XPMCK/MML or Carillon.
