One tip if tyour song doesn't use stereo created in LSDj, is to pan different groups of instruments to the left and right, (for example ch3 + noise to the left, everything else to the right) and use the recorded channels as two mono mix channels.

The significance is that you need a qualified path in order to run a program (I guess is the reason). The period means "current directory" and slash is the directory delimiter. It would be similar to standing one level down and writing kigb_lin/kigb
And no, I don't have KiGB running on a Linux system. Maybe other people do. I don't care about KiGB.

Try aoss ./kigb
You need to give aoss the command exactly as you would give the command on the command prompt.

If you want a second source emulator, try Gambatte.

I believe the meaning of "soliciting votes" is to say "vote for me (or my best friend)" not "go vote for other people in this poll with no prize".

It's 1 MB just like the original ROM. But the cartridge egr linked to just has 32 kB of ROM, and no MBC chip. smile

Sweep/S command is using hardware pitch modulation. It will simply keep on going until it hits the top or bottom frequency. (Which BTW is slightly lower than C3.) There's no way of reading out the exact internal state of the frequency register and stopping the sweep at a certain point. (You could try to time it right, but it would be pretty fiddly for little gain.) If you're using sweep to make a kick, my suggestion is to choose the sweep and volume envelope so that the volume dies out before the sweep hits the floor.

egr: Not really. If you use LSDj, the ROM gets way too big. If you use something else to play the music, sure. The music in the menu is played by a minimal music engine I whipped together for the purpose. Or, you could just use XPMCK.

You can achieve this using a combination of the P and L commands (and not using the S command or sweep at all.) Check this lsdsng out:

So, framerate is ok (should ideally be 60/60) when you run GDI mode?

Could you also try output DirectDraw with VBlank auto and 1) tell me if it runs ok 2) give me the system info output?

Closed. I have a sliiiiight feeling this thread would never have ended in a collab anyway.

Also what are the specs for the computer you're using?

Did you try any of the other things?

Yo KiGB, I'm happy for you and Imma let you finish, but BGB one of the best emulators of all time! Or in other words, sorry for hi-jacking the thread, but I would like you to try a couple of things to see if you can get BGB working.

First of all, make sure you are using the latest version of BGB, which is 1.4.

Right click and go into options, misc tab, show framerate. (top right option.)

Load your ROM and take note of the two numbers under normal use. Right click and choose other, system info. Click ok to copy the info to clipboard and paste it here.

In options, under the gaphics tab, try these options:
Output: GDI, everything else unchanged.
Output: Auto, VSync: disabled.

In the sound tab, try changing auto to directsound or waveout. Try dragging the latency slider to the left, which increases the buffer size.

Between every step, resume emulation and see if if things are smoother.
