Noise removal adds weird artefacts that are generally worse than the noise.

Use the detune setting to tune it.
That's pretty much the answer.

Re: Ethics surrounding the use of throw-away artist names (23 replies, posted in General Discussion)
For a Broken Earth was the title of an album I never made and is now the soundcloud page I used to catch the majority of my misc ideas. Then I have 2 other artist names I use for unrelated projects, and there have been numerous other for short lived projects, collabs ect.
Names a name, not necessarily an identity. If you got to know some one who called themselves george, and then they have a name change to become barry, they're still the same person you knew.

Yeah there's a Detune option in the INST Function menu. Try that with each voice you're using. I've never heard of an FM synth having wonky tuning.

Fairly certain the battery is fine and the switch is at the right position. I might just be being a dunce.

Cant you save patches in the editor though? Computers kind of a big part of my set-up, if i could send some sysex messages to recall my patches i would be golden
Yeah that's possible.

I'll warn that saving your patches to the FB01 itself has been a real issue for me. I've got mine saved to my hardrive and load them up when I've got it connected.

That said, this thing definitely has the coolest bass presets ever!
EDIT:
Here's a WIP I've been doing recently using the FB01 for the bass.
https://soundcloud.com/i-ningen-i/new-c -2/s-MeLloAdmittedly I haven't crafted my own patches with this thing yet, I've just been sifting through this endless sea of banks I found on that site I posted about. I'm hoping to either find or make some more "synthy" type instruments. It seems like the majority of these are the FB-01 imitating real life instruments.
It's a weird side effect of that period in synth development. People generally agreed the point of a synth was to imitate acoustic instruments in order to make recording them unnecessary. Most synths suck at that, but they tried anyway. It wasn't until every one had given up on synths and ditched them that a new generation came in and started making them actually sound like synths.
If you can get your head around the general principals of FM synthesis you can definitely get some cool sounds out of it. It wont be as flexible as a modern FM VST like FM8, but the hardware aspect gives it some nice artefaction and chunk.

Ohh, hadn't heard of this, really nice and seems pretty flexible.
I've been dubbing my stuff out with a Boss RE-20 for a while and love it, but I may need to add one of these in too.
Honestly, it's better than some actual tape delays I've used. If you want a serious delay its definitely a great choice.
