Now that I look at your picture... there's RCA options available on all of those!  Why not go that way?  And then use any common "game system switcher".

i wish it was that easy.
i could do that with the sega, and snes, but the nes, jag, and 2600 rca's dont seem to work.
sad

we use these at work.  i have one on my lap right now.

thanx!
this looks like a good/simple solution big_smile

RF modulater, i'v never seen one with multiple coax inputs.

yeah,
that's what i was looking for online as well.
but this one is like all the others i have found...
it's the exact OPPOSITE of what i need:

radioshack.com wrote:

This RF Modulator converts the video and stereo audio from any A/V component, and most video game decks, into a coaxial cable output.

i need coax INPUTS not OUTPUTS.

but thanx for this idea:

i could probably scare up a couple coax a/b switches from work if you want to use them.  three switches would let you choose between 4 devices

that's a really good idea if i can find an RF mod that does what i need.
something like this:

hooked into an RF modulator would be clutch.
but i need one that does coax in, and rca/hdmi/svideo out.

how about some baron munchause ascii???

click for full size (i have a bigger one too)

extra points for anyone who "deciphers" the binary
(should be super obvious i guess...)

wow!
amazing work!

the typography is down right sexy!
over all, i think i like version 2 better, but i dont really care of the colors on the text in that version as much.

awesome as usual ;D

hey,
so have a quite a collection of retro consoles

all of which are used/played on a regular basis.

i have been using this old CRT tv for some time now.
it has done the job, but the screen was going bad.
(wobbles, odd colors, lack of any picture at times, etc)

so, a really awesome friend of mine bought them self a
new tv, and GAVE me their old flatscreen hd-tv.
(it's good to have friends ;D)

anyway, the point of all this...
the new tv is awesome, aside from the fact that it has
NO COAX CABLE INPUT! the tv only has inputs for:
HDMI, S-VIDEO, RGB (monitor cable), and standard RCA a/v
(red, white, yellow). but the VAST MAJORITY of my consoles
use the coaxial cable wire.

so i need one of the following solutions:

[1] an out of the box solution: that takes a least 1 coax input
and outputs to one of the cables my tv uses.

[2] a DIY solution: any design schematics or tutorials for building
something like this on my own.

[3] a pay DIY solution: i give you money, you build me one ;D

i'd really like a device with multiple coax inputs, since daisy
chaining all these consoles have an advers effect on the
display further down the chain, but i have to have a least one.

im up for any help you guys have to offer.
thanx in advance ;D

it really is the future. developing new hard/soft ware for retro consoles remotely across the world.

also,
is this a log of the first NES being programming via the internet?

great work guys!

Yeah, the only thing keeping me from getting a Dremel is this is literally the only thing I'd use it for. I tinker with enough stuff that I'm sure that it'll come in handy again, but damned if I can't think of anything specific at the moment.

^ This is only $27 though, I guess it's not as expensive as I was thinking.

dont by a rechargeable / battery powered dremel. they dont hold a charge long enough
to do anything (especially when cutting plastic). i used a rechargeable dremel when
i was doing my nespc mod. it took me two weeks, since i had to keep quitting and recharging.
it was quite annoying. i got the expensive demel XPR, and it's amazing. i end up using it
all the time since i have it. cutting wood, plastic, metal, whatever. also the sanding bits are
pure gold. and there are 100x of different dremel tips for different jobs. it's a sound investment.

but,
regardless of the tool you use,
the most important part to remember is:

very cool arfink!
i read a post by blargg in the lightwall thread where he said he uses a special NES dev console.
i wanted to ask for more detail on this, but didnt think that was the right thread.

it's cool that the 2 of you are bringing this tech (or something similar) to the community!
