Was/is this a Thanksgiving sale?
I figured you would have been cleared out of these already at that price.

Was/is this a Thanksgiving sale?
I figured you would have been cleared out of these already at that price.
I was surprised by the trouble of finding the correct CF cards, as they are still in regular use by many people/organisations for a variety of purposes, with new hardware requiring the older type cards still being manufactured. Those vendors do supply the CF cards, but sometimes not very cheaply, such as with Cisco.
floppies are very fragile, and i am glad they went away in general. I don't like that the cost of the replacements used with vintage hardware can have a steep initial investment compared to buying disks at a buck a pop, although cheaper (and more durable and reliable) in the long run. Everyone needs to hurry up and get all the stuff stored on floppies transferred to something else, and share it with the world.
The issue isn't the size of the files, it is the future availability of the required storage media. Like the ez flash iv and mini sd...
even though it supports sdhc, if those become more difficult to get hands on then the price goes up. I have recently gone through this while looking for CF (or pcmcia sram/flash) cards. the older stuff is now often more expensive than newer stuff, but the type i needed was very specific, although once the standard, and plentiful. sdhc is readily available cheaply now, but will it be in 5 or 10 years?
edit: think diskettes.
Also kitsch sells lights by themselves so if someone got this for a good price they could return it to its former glory.
You sure? I only see various backlights for monochrome models and backlit screens for advances. Did you mean the backlit screens?
Legitimately, I'm a little bummed that it's SD based. Especially if its not sdxc for the simple fact that in 4 years sdhc cards will be hard to find. Same problem I have with my ezflash and r4.
Same here. I got lucky that my micro to mini adaptor works with my ez flash iv. DaRkO and kitsch take note of this, as our future selves will thank you. The less limiting factors (like the EMS and other carts have) the better. I have an ezfa cart that i have had to replace with the ez flash iv because I no longer have a computer with the proper software for flashing, although the cart itself works fine. I bought the "new" one at a time when it was already fairly obsolete.
I have seen both of these in the past, and I feel both are pretty lazy attempts at making a buck off of people. I think the first is sorta dumb, myself, but I can't say exactly why, as I have considered doing such things in the past. The one selling kitsch-bent stuff...I dunno, they aren't exactly just reselling, but... both put a little effort into their stuff. plus I have seen worse on etsy.
One way to look at it, though, is the person selling kitsch kases is giving new skin to the game boys that were stripped to house HDDs.
Are there any interesting Gameboy mods that people have done besides the ordinary ones (Pitch bend, half-step crystal, backlight, prosound, battery indicator, etc)? I'm looking at modding my DMG sometime soon, and I really want to go al out and md it as much as possible. space isn't really a problem as I'm going to try a larger case.
Sorry if someone mentioned these and I missed it, but if you are trying to go crazy with it swap CPUs with a super game boy, give it a pocket LCD, and throw in some sort of video out (that is what I really want, but I have only seen a couple projects for doing it that I feel are too ambitious for me atm).

This is an album of covers I did, but probably the only ones worth listening to are the Mozart and the Miley Cyrus
I think the Dexter themes are the killer tracks here. I am gonna share them with someone who I am sure will love them.

lime green and black? I need some of these right now.
also, I forgot you were making these. A black (or tan) version of these would work great for a stupid theme i came up with.
I like the color combos on the lights
er, lites...
moron
I asked mr. thursday to install and test out the new silicone button sets i've done (being manufactured atm) and for some feedback, and not only got great constructive criticism but also these rad pics, some with illumination!
this is a COMPLETE set of silicone buttons. they feel awesome too. i've managed to increase the quality of the silicone products, as well as lower cost. win-win, things just really fell into place with these. FINALLY.
He'll be offering this mod with these buttons, he does great work I highly suggest him. keep an eye out for that, I'll get him a stock of buttons when they get here so he can offer that pretty quickly to everyone who isn't comfortable doing it themselves.
oh! i should note... i had samples made in semi- and high-transparency silicone. not entirely sure what was used for the two illumination pics, but just wanted to mention that. i've decided on the semi-transparent ones for the first batch. best for 'backlighting', it diffuses much better (high-transparency is very clear, like a jelly candy sort of, doesn't really diffuse)
Will these also be sold by you? Will these work ok with insane button mashing?
Nah but seriously, may as well just bin my whole sd cart now not much point if krikzz is doing this.
Unless your cart is cheaper, or more readily available. Even if it isn't, there is room on the market for more than one SD GB flash cart.
Maybe you can do some different things with your design.
Pretty high detail there.
are they available now?
currently there are no drop-in replacements available
(reads between the lines) so how soon? are they still in an early stage of development?
Feeling very old with this thread!!
