Haven't been able to find one recently.
Anyone have any reliable carts or nanoloops for dmg?

I'm looking for clear plastic buttons to complete the project I've been working on.
Kitsch seems to be out of stock right now.
Located in the US but will pay international shipping.

Hey, so I've been assembling my ideal DMG that includes the following modifications &/or physical components that 'might' be of concern...

- SGB CPU
- Gameboy Pocket screen
- Internal Arduinoboy (Arduino Pro Mini)
- 1/8" prepot prosound
- 1/4" prepot prosound
- RCA prepot prosound
- Half speed crystal and regular crystal (via switch)
- Variable clock
- 74HC86 inverter (via switch)
- PS/2 keyboard socket
- RGB start/select buttons
- RGB case LEDs x3 (the ones made by justinthursday:http://store.kitsch-bent.com/product/case-leds-v1)
- RGB backlight VA LEDs x2 (the ones kitsch sell:http://store.kitsch-bent.com/product/rgbbb)

All in all, everything works fine up until two or more of the RGB switches are turned on.
After turning on more then one color the audio is noticeably degraded in volume and in quality (In all prosounds and regular headphone output). This sucks because its fine for playing games but wouldn't make the ideal LSDJ candidate. I'm sure this is probably some sort of power consumption issue but who knows.

Anybody have any ideas on how I'd go about fixing such an issue?

I hate to to revive an old thread but...

Wow...
This kind of documentation is amazing!
Many thanks and kudos.
Any chance you'd do this kind of thing for the screen's PCB?

Never thought of arduino + SGB thats pretty nifty. Keep up the good work looks great!
I've done the link port & variable clock so if you need any assistance feel free to ask.
I'm sure you could find some room for the link port & variable clock wink

Did you try formatting the ems cart via the cart flashing executable?
I'd backup the .sav file for shits and gigs incase it isn't completely cached. I've heard of .sav's being repaired before by Nitro2k01, just some food for thought.

This thread should probably clear up some keyboard confusion.

Has anyone here had experience with this?

Wiring the screen board directly to the main pcb is possible, but not entirely practical. If you do go ahead and attempt this I'd recommend doing something innovative with the wires so it will close properly. Good luck!

Hey! Are you sure you can fit it into a DMG considering how big/thick the panel is? Having said that, I have one that I haven't used yet with the LEDs' legs trimmed down. But, I'm afraid shipping from Spain will be too expensive. it's like 4-5€ considering the weight of the envelope. Dunno how much to charge for the LED panel itself. it was orginally $15 or so.

Thanks for bringing the size / fit-ability of the backlight panel. I don't quite understand the concern tough... being that it was marketed as a dmg backlight, I will be housed in a dmg by the way. Contrariwise the physical screen will be that from a gameboy pocket. Shipping shouldn't be to much of a problem.
Definetly interested in purchasing said backlight.

Please, tell me you have one of the preprogrammed arduino mini's / sketch files it was programmed with.

EMS cart + OSX = no bueno

Being as you've braved your way through flashing the ems through the terminal, I'd assume you'd be able to obtain VMware Fusion. Its really a great piece of software, once installed setup a xp virtual machine. Install ems drivers on the xp side. Connect the EMS as you would normally then run the cart flashing executable. At this point you will be able to format/read/write your EMS with ease without messing around typing commands in manually. Now just simply flash LSDJ, that its, you should be set after that.

Hope this helps

I very much enjoyed the tutorial / reading this thread.
Good stuff you guys

I currently have the kitsch rgb backlight, although in my opinion 2xleds would be twice as nice.

Specifically, I'm looking for said arduino board / sketch files that were offered as part the kit.

Seeing as it is no longer listed on the site, here is the installation pdf as a reference to what I'm looking for exactly: www.nonelectronics.com/tutorials/RGB%20controller%20guide.pdf
