i too started on lsdj and got nanoloop carts afterwards. it's really easy to make long melodies in lsdj, and it's not really an option in nanoloop unless you exclusively use the song mode. because the rom's workflow, it's a lot easier to make things shorter (one or two measures, as opposed to the often used four or eight in lsdj). it's also a lot easier for me to make simple/loop-based stuff, it's kind of hard to make musically complex melodies and things like that.

i'm not sure about you, but i bought nanoloop 2.6 because of the sound capabilities. if you feel like it's limiting your songwriting, you should try lgpt. you can get even more sound textures, and the program's workflow was based heavily off of lsdj. hope this helps!

wow really? i've often had this fear, but I've NEVER gotten an error message. I've even dropped an SP and the EMS cart was still running perfectly fine. Maybe you just have all the bad luck. tongue

this has happened to me a few times with an ems cart in a gba, i haven't even tried using my sp

awesome!

I just finished modifying one of my GB cameras. It now have a 30mm filter thread. Why? Because I can now add any 30mm filter/accessory. See pictures of fisheye and lens hood attached to the gb camera!

for me, it took oliver 12 or so days to get it shipped. a little slow, but it's whatever.

it took two weeks in shipping. i remember that it was funny when it arrived, because the email said "if it takes longer than two weeks, notify me" and it got here right on time.

you could use two gameboys, play them in sync, then switch to the other one when the first one runs out of synths. like a song transition, but it's the same song. (just an idea)

it says that it can sync with the monotribe, and there's a midi in/out mod for the monotribe, so even if the volcas don't speak midi, we could probably make them smile

does it have midi sync or is it some weird korg-only sync thing?

i've seen 1/8" cables transport midi messages, but the website doesn't specifically say 'midi capable', so i'm not sure.

Only 8 patterns is kind of a bummer. Seems surprisingly low?

it's only $150 for an analog drum machine, i think they'd have to cut some features out somewhere.

thanks for the advice!

yeah, i'd probably have better luck with finding a broken dmg, rather than a person who would be willing to sell it separately.

i guess i'll just troll ebay and the sales here for one, thanks for the advice.

i've also found that it's fun to answer the phone saying "hello, this is oliver, age 24"

But do they only have three functioning lines of pixels each and no working audio output, and are they sticky?

ha, not quite that bad. actually, at the moment, i don't have any functioning dmgs, so i've been rocking my gbas.

Ooh, I'd never thought to stick one in the dishwasher before. I gotta try that.
Is there anything I should keep in mind so as to now screw something up somehow, or is it pretty straightforward/foolproof?

from what i hear, it's really straightforward. just put the shell on the top rack of the dishwasher to prevent warping.
