Not possible. You have to choose either sync or keyboard in lsdj.

Yeah of course, but I didn't mean have sync and kbd at the same time, I just meant having the option to use the PS/2 connector as both regular sync AND kbd.

In theory, would it be possible to hook up pin 2/4 on the GB port to pin 2/6 on the mini-DIN socket and use this as a ghetto link cable, while also retaining keyboard functionality?
I've got a bunch of sockets lying around, but no link cable, and I've recently gotten a 2nd LSDj cart.

I'll probably have to solder my own cable to make sure the connections go in the right places, but it should be possible yeah?

Wicked.
Someone should totally get started on a Comic Sans font though. The pro choice of fonts.

Download "trial" versions of Loop de loop, Applechun and Renoise.
Personally I prefer Renoise because of that sick sleek tracker interface combined with the aspects of modern DAWs.

That and it's only what, 50 bucks or something?

It's not missing pixels, it's like it's bleeding into each other. Didn't realize the picture was that terrible, sorry.
I'd take a better picture but I left for my dorm and won't be home until another 2 days, so have a terrible mockup for now.

Heh, ゲムボイ.
I've got a dead mobo here I'd be more than happy to donate to you if you pay for the shipping.
Last I checked the cart slot worked just fine.

Found an old discarded 1,5mm backlit daughterboard and hooked it up to the motherboard of my primary DMG.
However, the LCD is completely fucked up, with vertical streaking.

Don't mind the green splotches, that's just my webcam being a $5 piece of shit.

Is this a fixable issue or does it have something to do with the screen itself?

Think that's called a VU meter! smile

You're totally right, had a massive brainfart there.

It will most certainly preserve the translucency, but XMetals + a clear coat gives better results in my opinion.

Here's rit dye, and I'll try to find the red one I did with XMetals paint.

Actually, I think I lost the pictures. Here's one I found in a google search:

Ah that's wicked, thanks man!
Funnily enough, I mentioned XMetals to some guy who wanted to paint his Gameboy without covering the Nintendo logo.
Anyway, the place I live at doesn't stock Krylon anything, especially not XMetals, and it's pretty expensive to get aerosol cans shipped over, so I'm gonna go with the Rit and hope for the best.

Kinda wish I DID have access to Krylon, because god damn that looks sick.

whoops, browser fucked up

This post on a yoyo modifaction forum had some good-sounding information to it. If the case took the die nicely, it would be totally kickass to be able to make custom-tinted dmg cases (is it strange that soaking a dmg case in acetone, hot ter, and dye scares me less than painting from the inside?)

I'd totally be interested in seeing the results this would produce!

ALSO! A mod should change the title to point out that this is wondering about transparent plastic, as there are no doubt many users who skipped this thread assuming that it is just someone who doesn't understand how the search function works.

Ah, thanks for the link.
From what I gather, dying transparent plastics will stain it, but still make it see-through? I guess I'll give it a try whenever the package shows up.

Oh, and I changed the title. Didn't even consider it, oops.

Buying caps can take hours when you have to go through datasheets to make sure the size is right, so I think that's a pretty fair price.

If I can save a couple dollars doing something that'll take me hours, I will.
Anyway $5 isn't bad either, I just thought it said $15 for some reason.

Sick, thanks for sharing this!
Weird no one thought of it before.

What should the volt rating for the USB PSU be? 5v?

Kitsch sells cap kits. Might be worth a shot.

I'm all for supporting the scene and all, but his kit's pretty expensive.
Mixing your own set of caps is way cheaper if you just look around.
Tayda Electronics is especially great, if you're fine with 1-2 week shipping time.

EDIT: I do not know in my wildest dreams why I read $15, but hey.

So I got a clear replacement shell from Kitsch-Bent and some Rit-Dye.
Would dying the shell retain its translucency or would it just make it hella opaque?

Am I just better off coating the inside of the shell with spraypaint instead?

Oh, right.
I have searched the forums and read the thread about Rit lower on the page, but couldn't really find anything about translucency.

Haha holy shit, replace that cap, man.
