I can, but I've stopped reading it for 2 years because I had no need, writing and playing everything by ear even on guitar (but I still use guitar tabs)
Also, just the G-clef, I've been also working on memorizing the F-clef but barely used it

I do this alot actually. I learned this trick from alva noto performances. he's been doing it for years now.

the best results I've gotten are not to send the video signal through the kp but send your audio through and add it to the video signal. there's a sweet spot so you have to gradually raise the volume of the audio source until you find it.

I've also heard good things about using s-video in (using some type of adapter) but I'll have to do some more experimenting myself.

still haven't tried mixing video signals with an audio mixer but there has to be something cool there.

also, get some IR leds and you can record and playback the samples of your remote controls  (only works at 24/96 due to the IR freqs) to glitch the TV on and off  I used this to build a max patch to generatively animate a bunch of those radio controlled hex bots for a project in sound school so I know that It works.

also get an rca to vga adaptor and send these to an lcd projector for live shows.

You mean using something like this you should be able to mix together the original video and the kaoss'd audio signal into the video?

For sure it would be better to use a mixer, like the behringer xenyx 302 which has rca inputs and 2 eq band so you can experiment a little.
Also, what if you process the signal AFTER it's mixed, and then send it to the screen? I would experiment a lot if I had the gear

I wonder what a Commodore (or even Playstation) game would look like when kaoss'd!
Also, I really like Boddah's effect

But it looks like it actually uploads the songs!
Someone should at least delete the already uploaded not-showing songs..

Don't know if this is the right section, posting in Commodore because Commodores are implied, but looks more like a motion graphics thing.

So I was wandering around searching for C64 videos and I found this.

It just blew up my mind. Is it really possible to obtain cool distorted graphics effects similar to circuit bending just running the video signal of a Commodore (or maybe even other consoles or possibly any video device) through a Kaoss Pad or any other fx obtaining soft glitches and not ruining the signal or any device implied?
I'm really curious about this and I would like to know if you ever tried something like this or know if it really can be done right, or not, and why.
Would make visuals a lot easier even if I'm pretty sure it's quite limited compared to circuit bending

I discovered ReNoise just a month ago and it looks pretty cool and easier to use than other DAWs, so I guess when I'll have a decent pc I will definitely try it! It seems you can easily draw your waves as I've seen in she's tutorial!

I love the tracker-style interface!

So I'm not really sure what this thread is about though...what exactly are you looking for? Non-chip sounding chip that has melodies?

As I have state there is more than one sound chip in the world, not just the DMG.

Also the rules have been brought to my attention,

there is a good deal of harassment being placed on me here in this thread, and I have yet to see any kind of moderation over the action of said harassment.

The problem with the fact that chipmusic is becoming mainly gameboy music is because it's easier to afford, rather than some expansive midiNES, with just 2$ you get the LSDJ rom, with 40$ the flash cart and out there it's full of gameboy modders, so you can get a gameboy too and you're ready to go.
Also, I don't think other systems' sound (like Amigas and Sega consoles) are as famous as the "classic" Nintendo sound. And maybe not anyone has the possibility to get an Amiga system.
Exception made for the C=64 that maybe is easier to find.
So, imho the problem is in money and reperibility of gear

Anyway I'm not sure about this melody thing. I guess there are a lot of different people making different music, but since a lot of them went exploring new ways of making sounds, there is much more an expansion to unknown beats than to classic melodies. Also, famous artists someways influence the little artists (not totally but somehow) so if we hear more "not-full-of-melodies-music" by famous people sometimes we try to emulate that. With this sure I don't mean that we want to be famous as them making their same music.

EDIT: Shoot, I'm late!!

This may sound REALLY dumb but when I have to compose on 2xlsdj, I sync with a link cable, then
~ I put on my earphones plugged into the first gameboy
~ I put on my headphones plugged into the second gameboy

No jokes, it works and I find it comfortable
