You are missing my point completely. Promoters in the IS do not understand that electronic music exists outside of the DJ context.

No, I got your point. I understand.

That's just something I've been wanting to do ever since I heard about LSDJ (I was going to post a feature request for it until I heard of MuddyGB). I personally like the live "instrument" performance element myself, and kind of wish it happened a bit more often with Gameboys.

It could possibly be a good way to get a foot into the "one simply does not perform electronic music" door/sell your soul. Or maybe not.

@Decktonic: Gameboy musicians could use MuddyGB to improvise over the tracks (if they don't do the Live Mode thing).

@Spacetownsavior: I enjoyed that Frostbyte show in which the chatroom served as the audience/performer feedback loop more than the non-chat ones. Yeah.

The "beat the game to listen to the music" concept would be cool. Seems like either the game has to be really really awesome or the music has to be amazing while accompanying at least slightly-above-averagee gameplay for anybody to give it a second glance. You'd have to make sure they know the point of it.

I played through "Donkey Kong Land" 1&2 many times just to hear the musics, but I don't think that was the developers' intention. That result tends to come about by accident.

"This isn't a game: It's a guardian standing between you and the music", That's a cool concept, actually. I've listened to several releases and wished that there was a game to go along with it.

And, actually...

(Upcoming Space Town Savior projects may or may not follow this model)

This is something I have wished for many a time, haha.

Then again, that's taking it back to "video game music" again.

Haha... somebody should release an album on TMNT Talking Turtle sound strips or something. smile...

I just have a question: Did you mean "Suedeboy" as in blue suede shoes?

Pretty sure he meant that the blue shell and yellow backlight is a reference to the flag.

D'oh! Of course... :-X Thanks. Was just curious... Carry on...

BGB is the best. It's for Windows, but you can run it in Linux with Wine. BGB allows you to even export each channel separately.

I don't know if that will fix your problem, though.

Agreed. I found the Paragon5 readme to be pretty useful.

Most trackers use the function keys, F1-F12, as the main operations keys, and I recall Paragon5 being similar.

That said, I've since realized that Paragon5 doesn't seem to have an export function, which I always thought it did…

There's apparently another tracker called BoyScout, although I don't personally know much about it.

I read through the readme, and learned the functions and everything. I guess I'll just have to read a bit more closely, because I still can't figure out how to load an example song, though the directory is pointing to the right place.. CTRL+R just brings up a blank box. Maybe I should've started a new thread... hm...

Edit: Okay, nvm, I must have moved the folder after it was all unzipped and configured, so the directories weren't setup up correctly. derp

we just need something in the site that says "LEVEL xx THREAD NECROMANCY!" when you bump a thread 2 months old or older

I didn't think it was worth starting a new thread.

I can't for the life of me figure out Paragon5.

Maybe it's because LSDj is the first tracker I've attempted to learn. I pretend I'm going to learn ModPlug and Famitracker, but…

Yeah. I've been wanting to fiddle around with Paragon5, but I can't even figure out how to get the keyboard working to enter notes (though I can navigate through screens and fields), or even how to load one of the included example songs (when I hit CTRL+R nothing shows). If somebody could come up with a quick starters guide, that'd be great (ellipsis)

You had me at "Wheels on my feet" XD

LOL, I can't bring myself to hate this... *tuff black guy voice* "Like me!" that's just make me smile, haha.

I don't know if I like this ironically, or if I just like it. makes me facepalm in the best of ways...

I don't even care if the words mean anything or not, lol. This guy just has such a weird endearing swag, even if "Robot Man" and "Agro Crag" have the same flow...

LOL at this whole release. I couldn't see this guy live. I'd be in stitches the whole time...

Edit: Yeah... this flow gets old after awhile... gotta switch it up a bit... reminds me of that one kid...
Edit: Oh, that was "Robot Man pt. 3" no wonder it reminded me of robot man... but w/e happened to pt 2?

Might be my old tunes sound prehistoric and primitive to todays listeners?

coming from a new addition to the chipscene, i'll just go ahead and answer with a big fat NO. OLDSKOOL IS BESTSKOOL.

extremely great tracks you've got here, especially for xm mods. the feel you put into your tracks and your overwhelmingly efficient use of instruments is awesome, in every sense of the term. that, and you don't hear too many tracks from mod composers, since it's mostly gameboys, c64s, and fakebit now, so this is a nice change. great work overall, keep it going!

Don't be worried about your age or sounding primitive-IMO, your stuff is fresher than most stuff on here lately and I love it! Welcome back!

Always enjoy your releases, Jakim. Always. Classic but fresh.

Tried out the game demo... your music is surprisingly fitting for it, despite (what I see as) the game's short-comings. It certainly has a positive effect on the entire experience.

Wait, is this about the music or the machine?

In any case, this is groovy. Real groovy. Loving the early 2000's vibe of "End of Summer". A little bit of early Justin Timberlake feel goin' on... B) or should I say ;_;
I guess you heard I like retro music, so you put some retro music in your retro music so I can have retro music with my retro music?

Really enjoyed this. It's so light and fluffy yet it leaves you feeling well fed. =q

(ps: kitsch, do you have any music releases floating around out there, or do you just use consoles for gaming and modding?)
