irc is pretty simple, you download an irc client which is a piece of software which comes with a manual and/or is pretty intuitive to learn anyway, and then you use it to connect to whatever network and channels you want to visit.
stargazer unhelpfully didn't tell us what network #gameboydev is on though \o/ doesn't seem to be esper (irc.esper.net) where most of the other chiptune channels are
Or just use an in-browser client.

From 0:50 on it's pretty damn good. I think cutting the section from :40 to :50 would really help the song feel more cohesive. Also, though you probably wanted a short song, I think you could really go somewhere with the last section and possibly work it back around to the section at :50 which I think is your strongest section.
Sorry if any of that's too vague to help.
I'm just curious... do you think :40 would sound better with a more "normal" beat, instead of the kick and snare going at the same time? Maybe the change from laid-back-beat to BLAST-BLAST-BLAST is too abrupt? I thought it was kind of cool myself, but I'm no master arranger.
I agree about it being able to continue from the last part, but that's just personal preference for me. Maybe a "tunnel part 2" is in order?
I think the first part would be stronger if it had some bass added after a couple measures, instead of just the lead and drums the whole time. I wonder what kind of bass would fit their, though...
Still, this is a major improvement. Keep going in this direction

Cool. The rhythm is much better now . And your phrasing has really improved. It actually sounds like rock music.

Just posted the Worms Armageddon soundtrack for Game Boy Color. Creative use of the WAV channel makes it almost sound like a C64. But the CGB's soundchip is lacking, as far as the WAV channel is concerned, so I got the .gbs onto my prosounded DMG and recorded it .
Track 6, manb. Track 6... *sigh* I think I've found my next goal. Even the composition style is C64esque.

Sweet! I'm going to check it out right now . I've been wanting to try that myself for awhile, actually. Made a VERY feeble attempt at a C64ish wave sound in a cover I did awhile ago...
...very feeble.
Ooh, cool. And you ran it through a DMG, too awesome!

There is a difference between good music and bad music.
I discovered this when smoking 100% pure DMT. Step up your game.
Edit: Musicians who say there is no bad music are like athletes who say it's not about winning.
0_o You need drugs to discover this?

Re: Chipmusic Video Thread (119 replies, posted in Motion Graphics)
This isn't really a chipmusic video per se. More like a slide show with chiptune in it. Main focus was the music, but I figured I'd put in something to look at.
It plays a bit oddly because the original file is an mp4, so there was no conversion involved. I added some kind of lo-fi filter (forgot what it was called) to the tune in LMMS to make it sound a bit more authentic.

Yay!
Also, I recorded most of the listening party except for a chunk of the very last part. It was very enjoyable. And the tips you gave on production were great!
Hm. Back vocals ground...

I also tried Syl cee em why kay and Syl Cee Myk

I made it home in time for the last half, but reasons beyond my control prevented me from tuning in.
I got to hear some of it, though.

Hopefully it'll stay on late enough for me to catch the tail end. Peace, and have fun, guys.
