Yeah, somebody posted this before I think.

It's not really that bad as far as these types of things go.

I'll try to tune in for more of this one big_smile

This is wonderful. I do agree that the gameboy is a bit muddy. It's not that it's too quiet, but it lacks clarity. Like it has a cloth thrown over it.

This is really nice! Always great to see gameboy making it's way into the classical spheres.

a track using Super Mario Brothers Deluxe

Haha nice. I'm not the only one who has done this big_smile

it was a real struggle for me trying to find usable samples from the songs on that site. But I have found some and I plan to make use of them by gum!

Yeah, I saw this. Interesting. Wondering how the interface is.

I like the chords in the background. Very nice sounds there. Melody reminds me of dire dire docks at places. Nice VGM stuff. smile

@12ianma and e.s.c. This sort of thing seems best sorted out in PMs.

It's bad etiquette to constantly bump your thread and double-post to respond to every comment that is posted in it. Use the edit button every once in awhile if you really feel the need to quote everybody. Check out the other BST threads and notice the strong lack of consecutive back-to-back posts by the Original Poster within a 24 hour period.

All these threads just make me feel like you are a dramatic attention-monger. :\ I thought the whole thing was funny but you kept dragging it on with your "hahaha yes! LOL!" "genius! I love this!!" "Your trolling of me is truly amazing XD" Nthtuple-posting.

I do kinda think that it is unfair if aggressive harassers don't get so much as a warning PM while a retaliatory act by the person being attacked gets him banned. There was a lot of bad behavior on all sides.

We have lots of fun here. The fun gets out of hand, the thread gets closed, and then we have more fun later on. Repeat. I don't see what the problem is. Most of the "fun" that ends with a locked thread was a thread locked way past-due.

Now if people started getting banned for all the locked fun we have, then that would be a problem. But as it is... I don't see why people have this "we can't have fun on chipmusic.org" mantra. A locked thread doesn't mean the end to the fun.

Maybe I am mistaking what I perceive as "fun" with cynicism and malice...? :\

The thing that makes cm.o less fun for me is when people make comments about how not-fun cm.o is. :\

Also... haha... this probably sounds weird after all the drama, but... Temp Sound Solution is a good band to listen to as far as chip elements goes.

Also I wanted to point out that the last two tracks are identical. I don't know if that was intentional or not.

Edit: I edited my previous post to give a better idea of what I'm trying to say. Also a lot of the sillier things that I said were very tongue-in-cheek.

And this Ladies and Gents is the Chipmusic.org forum community, what a shame, but everyone is entitled to their opinions i guess.

You've literally heard from what? Like... three people?

"If you've never heard 8-bit metal"
We have all heard 8-bit metal *smiles*. I'm not going to say anything bad about this album, except that I'm not a fan of guitars chugging along with no BASS (in my current state I can't really bring myself to form an opinion as to the actual composition). "B.A.C.O.N." made me giggle. smile

"what the hell is up with this hostile forum environment?"
Some people just call it how they see it without sugar-coating or a second thought to the sparing of feelings. Nothing personal (I think). Dancing around issues gets old after awhile for some people. Also don't let the ornery vocal minority scare you away. There are plenty of benevolent forces here to balance out the hostility.

Put yourself on the other side of the equation: What if an intermediate LSDJ artist decided "Hey I'm going to play some brutal metal chugs over my bleepy bloops" so he buys a guitar and goes through the "You Can Teach Yourself Metal Guitar" book for one year, records an EP featuring LSDJ and what he has learned in that book and then goes to a metal forum saying "If you've never heard metal 8-bit get ready for the ride of yovr life... or DEATH" etc, what would you think?

These "8bit" elements might WOW people who aren't really "into" the "chipmusic thing", but for people who are All Bit and a Bag of Chips, this type of programming is not going to blow them away. Personally I don't think it's all that bad at all. *shrugs* I'm sure there are plenty of other people here who would have no complaints. I do agree that the chipstuff could use a bit of buffing up (I think everything could use a bit more beef).

Also I suppose a community founded on "chiptune" would have reservations towards a band who APPEARS TO only "uses" chiptune but is not "chiptune" at its "foundation" if you know what I mean...? Not saying that is you, but it could look that way to some people.

Keep bit up! Don't quit, keep chip-chuggin' along as I always say...

I'm not in support of auto-delete as the default option. I'd prefer it to be something to OPT-IN to.

They should have added some C64 and Atari stuff.

I've had some ideas on how a touchscreen "tracker" could work. I'll try and organize them and post them here later. The main thing I'd like is for it to actually make s3xmodit modules :\
