I just want to point out that I work for fullsail at the main brewery. session lager +1.

yeah i cut it down for a horizontal fit, looks much better. but yeah, fox! dude! i was like, oh bummer it must have been scratched, and then laying in bed last night it dawned on me. i was set up to fail. so weak. broken SPs aren't exactly growing on trees.

So.. chances are several of you have frontlit a CGB at some point or another. I followed the advice of several tutorials and just thought I would point out something I ran into in my experience. A few of the tutorials mentioned "running a fingernail" across the surface of the plastic extracted from the SP for use in the CGB to determine which side is grooved and which side is plane. No where do they suggest that this is likely to scratch up the screen. This is unnoticeable before finishing the mod and lighting it up, but once lit its very noticeable. Anywhere that a fingernail has been run across is a big nasty scrape. So.. I would suggest if you do this to figure out which side is grooved, do it on the edge, or simple look for a grooved reflection in adequate lighting. My mod worked great but I was disappointed to see some ugly irremovable scratches in the middle of the screen.

Sold, but not shipped. If anything falls through, will bump.

price check on those battery doors!

It's primo. This rig was actually done up by Loomis, I have to thin out my collection before the Mrs. will let me go forward with other silly projects, so despite how epic this dmg is, and how much I liked it, its gotta go. No lines, very bright backlit, internal pro sound. Includes the battery door and the link port cover. Loomis did a great job with this one and I don't feel good parting with it, but I chose to hang on to the dmg I modified myself.

Edit: touchscreen typos, woot

Greyboy backlit with blue 4xLED, blue A+B, PiL style screen cover. Has battery door, internal prosound, great shape!

asking $55USD, or 50 if you send me a greyboy battery door. Or make an offer.

Ape: that was initially a response to nitro, followed by an edit nod to your battery explosion warning. Works done, wired to tabs, holds a save. Thanks for the warning!

This confuses me. The cart is functioning, but the battery holder makes the pcb too big for an old dmg cart. The holder is unnecessary for the function of the pcb, so I should be able to just solder it down after removing the holder, yes?

Also thanks for the advice, keep the tabs.

I'm looking to remove the battery holder and solder the 3v onto the board to fit it into and old school cart. So.. stupid question. I should just be able to solder the battery to the two points on either side of where the holder currently sits, yeah? One is on the left next to where it says "gb64usb11", and the other on the opposite side of the holder. Suggestions for wiring it?

For reference, what's the protocol for replacing cgb leds? Are there a standard for cgbs or do you always have to do some wiring?

but if people just want a replacement front board that lets them plug in a pocket screen, i could possibly have that done by the new year depending on if i can source parts like the ZIF connector for the pocket screen, DMG ribbon cable and the LCD voltage regulator.

This.
This would become a very popular purchase.

Wow. Thats the best method I've heard of to lend clout to a troll account. Thats also one of the best concept albums I've heard recently. Kick serious ass. Inspiring, too.

I'm already thinking of how to indirectly rip you off.
