I love the community when people aren't on their man-periods and actually talk about music.

The chipmusic community is based around chipmusic first. Our second most common topic here is people posting something about the chipmusic community, then everyone sees who can be the most negative and mean.
That said, I like the website, it had links I didn't even know about.

Re: Anyone got any thoughts on the korg ms2000? (14 replies, posted in Other Hardware)
I did buy and, and spent the past day or so mucking around with it. The presets suck vast amounts of ass, but I didn't buy it for presets.
It's got a nice workflow to it, so creating good sounds is a walk in the park. It's got a nice sort of crunch to it, the sounds really cut through a mix.
I've also gotten some decent pads, though it has only 4 voices, so they aren't quite as lush as other virtual analogs pads.

Topic: Anyone got any thoughts on the korg ms2000? (14 replies, posted in Other Hardware)
I've been looking into getting some hardware synths (that aren't the monotron or its big brother.) I stumbled across a used ms2000 used in a local music shop, and I was wondering if anyone here had any experience with one.
So yeah, should I spring? It's 150 bucks, and it works fine, as far as the owner tells me. I'll admit, I'm considering purely for the fact that it has a ton of knobs on the front, and I'm a sucker for knobs and sliders.

I'm kind of all over the place.
Parov Stelar
Beats Antique
Caravan Palace
Reel Big Fish
The Shins
Pretty Lights
Blackmill
Emancipator
Little People
But especially Blackmill and Parov Stelar. If you haven't heard Rain by Blackmill or All Night by Parov Stelar, you've been missing out.

Re: Your thoughts on the chip music community (213 replies, posted in General Discussion)
I see way to many of these threads on here, and I think that's enough of a testament to the state of the chipmusic community. Do we really have nothing better to do than get our panties in a bunch over something something said on a forum? I think we all (myself included) need to get the sand out of our vagina's, and focus on the reason we all came to the community. Unless you came to bitch, in which case carry on.

Don't bother with LSDJ, do all your music with shitwave. Only shitwave. Or, if you wanna be really hardcore, don't even bother with a gameboy. Buy a top of the line PC and ableton live, and take shitty midi's of pop songs from the 80's and run them through the magical8bit plugin.
