I lurk.  I came to these sites to find info on the craft.  At first I was elated to find people with like interests who would actually understand what I was talking about.  But the more I read and yes, occasionally posted the more I realized that people are assholes to each other... even in a place where I kind of fit in.  I often keep my opinion to myself here and other places because usually the end result will be bullshit.  I make music daily... haven't put any on the internet for over 3 years.  My infatuation with chipmusic has become something like masturbation... I do it often for my own sanity; but I don't talk about it much because people don't want to hear about it.. not even other people who are into the same thing.  I pay attention tho.  I contribute to the "scene" most openly by blasting chiptunes as loud as I can in my car in populated areas.

Jesus... how precious are you?!

tldr; This isn't live. Infradead is right on the money. Thanks for stopping by.

lol... calm down... If indeed infra is right on the money; then you would agree that is a big question what is "live" about a lot of electronic music.  I totally get what you guys are saying... and to some degree I do agree about FX manipulation alone not completely being live.  It's possible to question how "live" triggering sequences in realtime is as well tho.  I mean how "live" is any lsdj performance?  Semantics and philosophy aside... I think it's just the best way the guy could could think to describe what was going on in the video.  Thankyouverymuch...come again. big_smile

I don't mean to come accross as rude, but how is this live? If a DJ puts some filters over a tune does that make it live?

Yeah, that's coming across a little on the abrasive side.. But to answer your question.. yes that could be considered "live".  Realtime manipulation of sound is "live" even if the source is prerecorded (right?)..  Is anything a DJ does "live"?  I think so.  Anyway it was an alright song/video.  I was thinking "live" as in at a venue with people and stuff.

The whole damn thing is nice, CGI and all.  Most of all I identify with the fundamental story.  I feel like I am the guy in the boxer shorts sometimes... like I know it's futile; that's why I was chillin mindin my own bidness... but that fat bastard just won't shut the fuck up.... so I got to drag my ass to now and fuck shit up just because I can.. pointless as it seems.. it's got to be done.. out of principle.

How about an old television set?  The word KILL?  An old tv that says kill on the screen?  Monkeys.  Keys.  keyholes.  vaginas.  many different shrooms.  pentagram.  pentacle.  all the current lucky charm shapes not yet represented. handicap logo.  the word OBEY (also on tv).  Just suggestions.

Stickman, I don't know you so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you are joking.

The only people I know that do these things are people who do drugs anyway.

No I am not joking.  He has grown up around me doing all kinds of strange things with noise.  He was around when I messing with sbagen and other binaural beat stuff a few years back; so he understands the "science" behind the percieved effects and what not.  We have circuitbent together, and he will inherit my synths/samplers when he gets older.  He already has free run of my rm1x.  He has this thing called a "sense of humor" too.  And no I am not on drugs, but I have done them somehat extensively when I was young.  Maybe thats why I am open and honest about serious issues like drugs with my son.  He knows that crack is bad.  But he also knows that "digital crack" is just funny.  We connect through humor and video games.  He loves my flash carts and all our old consoles and loves to wax sarcastic about stuff people take way too seriously.  He will most likely read this and laugh at you.

I plan on trying to convince my son to try some of these.  Especially the "gates of hades".  Anyway I doubt he will ever do real crack even tho I want to do fake crack with him just so we can say we did it together.  He is 11. He gets a kick out of saying I'm addicted to lsdj.

I think 1/4" makes the most sense... it just seems more durable and logical to me.
