once i was video mixing at an event sponsored by goose island's 312 beer..which wouldbe been awesome, since i love goose island, but they didnt even hook us up with any free beer (plus i was pissed off enough that i didnt even grab the poster to take home, double-fail)

face to face networking is really the most enjoyable way..since youre in maryland, perhaps you can get in touch with dauragon c mikado, as he's a d.c. guy, cant think of any others currently in maryland/dc area..a few guys are in virginia though
