4k video sounds neat until you remember that almost no venues have the equipment to project 4k.... or that from where the crowd is viewing the visuals they probably couldn't even notice a difference between 480p and 720p or 1080p

i dislike most chip music, i'd much rather listen to Godflesh and Wu-Tang Clan... exceptions: stagediver, awkward terrible, ccdm, saskrotch, minusbaby, unicorn dream attack, sadnes, peter swimm, baseck, etc
really don't like the vast majority of dance music (no matter what the instruments are), i hate house music in specific, vgm does pretty much nothing for me, most demoscene stuff just makes me sleepy

good question, i assume SBSM is still waiting to get it back from whoever is doing the mastering since it hasn't been passed on to me to upload to the Datathrash bandcamp yet

That really sucks dude, I hope you can get some relief. hmm

thanks, i guess the best i can hope for is more effective meds...
also, since the last post i found out that i'm also going to be working on one or two music videos over the next two months..

12. Thread titles should describe the topic of the thread. Please avoid titles like "Help!" or "Have you seen this...". Something like "How can I do a beefy bassdrum with Midines?" or "I just saw a chip music reference at the bus stop" is good. Staff reserves the right to edit unclear thread titles to something more descriptive.

is this the same one Batsly Adams worked on and Heosphoros did some of the sound for?

yeah, most of these won't sound as good as the real thing...if you look around, you should be able to find an NES for $30-45 (or cheaper)

i wrote a longer reply fot this thread yesterday but i guess i forgot to his submit so i'll go with the short version...
taking painkillers for severe neck and back pain caused by arthritis in my spine, slowly working on music for four different projects and working on a 54 min long video piece (only working on stuff 1-2 days a week as pain allows)...

i'd say that it's especially important to attend shows which you aren't involved with in any way, too... supporting the work of other artists and socializing irl will at least help people know who you are. they still might not listen or book you but you haven't lost anything in the process and most likely will have fun

for what its worth, i had decent success removing NES hum by using a behringer autocomp pro xl compressor's noise gate... not ideal for live use since its a 1u rack compressor, but it worked well for recording (saving me 3 noise reduction passes, i still always did one pass to just get the little bit that snuck through the gate)

Why not use an emulator to avoid all natural extra noises ? wink

I'd be also curious to learn what is the cheapest way to transfer nsf files to a real console (I don't have one at the moment, but I'd like to). I found some hints, but it costed at least 100 €.

he uses midines, not famitracker, so there's no real way to use it in an emulator (unless his setup has changed in the last few years)

i know low-gain made a multi-channel output mod for a while that also cleaned the signal up a bit though that was years ago... wouldn't rule out that he might be able to put one together if you asked him though...

yes, wav would be lossless.. bandcamp allows upload of wavs, so its best to go with wav and let them handle any conversion

not especially? if there's time, maybe i'll work on a d_strct track for it.. just knew i'd never meet the orig deadline

Yes, it is. I think what likely happened is that you cut a cable in half and use one end of it. But since the in and out wires cross over, (out on one side goes to out on the other side) there's a 50% chance that the SI pin is connected either to red or orange on the end you're using.

I didn't cut a cable in half though, I unsoldered a link port from a game boy and wired it directly to the pi. It should follow the diagram. hmm
GND and Clock works too - I honestly have no idea what is wrong. I used a multimeter to confirm that the lines are drawn high when they should.

EDIT: Wait, I think I get it now.. I'm using a link cable to connect the two ports, and the link cable of course swaps in and out between the two ports (like you wrote)?...

correct. the in on one end connects to the out on the other. i forgot this once when wiring cables for a custom 6-dmg sync box i used to have and felt pretty silly when i wired one correctly but not the other (i cut one cable in half and wired each to a 5 pin din, since that's what the box used)

if no one else finds anything, i'll look on my backup hard drive and see which versions i have the upgrade files for so you can give it a shot (assuming i even have any 1.6.x versions at this point)
