Question. Are the Gameboy pocket buttons the same as GBC buttons, or are they different sizes?

Re: FM is for the People - VOL 2. !!!!!!! (36 replies, posted in Collaborations)
I'm gonna go ahead and join in the bumpage here. What happened to this? Did it fizzle out, or are we still doing submissions. I can do some nanoloop FM stuff.
In addition, I have a roland SH201. Am I allowed to use the FM features of it as well, or are we shooting strictly for "older" hardware?

A while back I spent a day ripping samples from megman 7 to use in my tracks. I wonder if I still have them... It would be great if people made samples packs from those games.

Excellent idea. If I had a way of recording my piano, I would definitely contribute to this.

Re: Favorite instruments to compose on: GO! (43 replies, posted in General Discussion)
I always find myself composing either on my roland sh-201 or my acoustic upright piano. I was trained on the piano and have been playing forever, so I feel like thats the one instrument that I can truly doodle around on without really using my intellect and just "feeling" things out.
That said, I think theres certainly something to be said for composing outside of your comfort medium or instrument, as we all have compositional habits when it comes to using whatever instrument we've been trained on. (I for example i have a couple key signatures that i refuse to compose in if I'm using the piano be cause the fingering drives me nuts).
To that end, even though I prefer piano as an instrument or fast/milkytracker for sequencing, stepping out of my comfort zone and working with stuff that is really off the beaten path (i.e. nanoloop) can really be helpful for breaking out of a rut.

This thread is absolutely fantastic. As somebody who loves tracking and is always starved for good samples i salute you all.
