As a spectator, I prefer to hear 20 minutes of the best shit I've ever heard in my life by itself (as opposed to hearing an additional 20 minutes of  pretty sweet, but not as awesome music).

I really love the distinct mixture of classically trained musicians vs. those who have a punk/metal/hardcore/"I taught myself" background. I wonder if this blend is what makes chip music so special. My personal experiences lean towards the latter, having played drums and bass in grindcore/hardcore bands (self taught).
