Is it possible to do black metal, you know, blast beats and the devil, in LSDj? Been trying to put something blackish together for a few weeks now, but it just doesn't sound dark or heavy enough.
I don't care for the symphonic sound too much, more like Leviathan, Gorgoroth, Mayhem or even traditional vibes like Bathory or Hellhammer or whatever.
If it is possible to do this type of noise on a Gameboy, is there anyone on these forums willing to give me some pointers, maybe some save files that I can dissect or whatever?

I'm not kissing saskrotch or anyone's ass. He acts like a dick frequently, and so does that "punk is dead" guy whose name I don't care to remember. There is no need to be a dick to anybody on this site, even if they are noobyMcDipshit asking about where to buy a LSDj game and you are the dude who designed the fucking Commodore 64. There will always be music you don't like/think is shit and questions that annoy you, but you can CHOOSE to act like a loudmouthed troglodyte or to just ignore it and make something cool. I am very interested in making the biggest fucking racket possible with LSDj, and I don't think many people will appreciate what I do because I'm new and I'm not trying to sound like Bit Shifter or whoever.
I'm not asking to be praised for mediocrity, and the grouphug comment was said in jest, but I don't think it's unreasonable to ask this community to be a bit more friendly to newcomers. Most of us n00bs are here looking for real advice and PROBABLY some like-minded people we can hang out with and share ideas.

What I meant was, they've earned the right to bitch, because they contribute positively as well. I started this thread to find out about the real sourpuss assholes who have NOTHING good to say and no CONSTRUCTIVE criticism to give. Why even fucking bother if you can't see any good in people joining your community and wanting to get involved?

Okay, so if all you 'established' scenesters are SO tired of answering stupid questions, then simply stop answering them.
Generally the title of the thread gives some indication as to the content and questions asked, so why even bother reading if you KNOW it's just another n00b asking about how to get LSDj on their GameBoy?
Making people who are new to this feel stupid for asking questions is knit-picky and alienating. Do you guys really want a stagnant scene just so you can have a grumpy little 'back-in-my-day' circle-jerk?

I agree with Doxic, add links to the bigger NetLabels (i'll add http://www.ptesquad.com/ to his list) , maybe some of the "essential" chip albums and a little FAQ for the truly uninitiated. I'm sure there are many people who want to get into chipmusic, even just as a fan, without getting called dildos by people who have (apparently) been into chipmusic before the invention of soundchips or music. http://chipflip.wordpress.com/ is a site with plenty of information about the origins of chipmusic, the nature of it, and the dildos who rip off true artists.

I felt love when listening and spazzing out to the music, and when I discovered that some people in the community are actually pretty cool...some...not the ones with newly sprouted vaginas (as n00bstar so eloquently put it).

I agree that there is NO FUCKING EXCUSE for mediocrity and laziness. If someone posts a stupid question like "how to LDSj on my Segas Gamegear", they are obviously not serious about this and should just be IGNORED, approaching them with sarcasm ONLY results in their post staying on the front page longer and you looking like a douchebag. It's just feeding the bullshit, and wasting time.
I've been messing about with LSDj on and off for almost a year now, I can play a few instruments, I've studied a bit of music theory and I can truly appreciate every musical genre other than country and *insert-latest-hipster-or-dance-fad*, but I'm not confident enough to put my stuff out there yet, because I know that anything worth-it takes time. We shouldn't give every half-assed attempt a pat on the back and say "good for you", but I also don't think it's necessary to be a dick.
And Saskrotch and Wizwars, you guys have earned the right to say whatever the fuck you want because you put out quality work and use proper grammar and spelling.

lol n00bstar, I also thought I might be to old for this shit, then I remembered Glomag(one of my fave composers)...
We just have to fight the elitism, fight the power, fuck the police and have ourselves an old-school riot (wheelchairs and walking canes FTW!!)
Thanks everyone, my faith in this site has been restored.

As someone who is only getting into creating chipmusic, the community, especially on this website, seems very negative and unfriendly, especially to newcomers. Some people on here have been very kind and helpful, but I've read some very elitist, dicky comments from some 'established' members of the community. Seriously, were you NEVER a noob and had a metric shitton of dumb questions? How badass do you REALLY think you are when you are being an asshole while holding a children's toy?
Is this whole chiptune thing not supposed to be about fun and building a positive scene, I mean, shit, if you want attitudes and capitalist elitism why not just write power-ballads, get played on the radio, get paid, do copious amounts of blow, get an STD and play stadiums.
PLEASE bring back the lols and grouphugs.
That's my little rant, now dissect it and tell me what a noob/idiot/dickhead I am.
Peace

Topic: Chipmusic in South Korea? (1 replies, posted in General Discussion)
Okay, so I know the Japan scene is immense, and really good, but is there any scene in South Korea?
I have lived here for a few years now, and have not heard a peep about any Korean composers or shows going down here, ever.
I am really curious about this, so if there are any Korean chip-musicians or fans on this site, PLEASE reply or get in contact with me.
Vrede.

I've heard the sound argument, but have you ever listened to an album, or at a show or whatever, and said, "if only that sad f**ker had used a pro-mod DMG"?
I'm just trying to understand the fanboy-ism, is all.
P.S.I listened to your track, So I Slept In, really love the vibe.
