Bump. Super stoked. Thanks for making this thread, I just remembered now. >.<
OH SHIT yes perfect let's bump this thread:
Chip show Feb 26 at Emporium. Featuring The Runaway Five (my band), Diode Milliampere, and Saskrotch.
https://facebook.com/therunawayfive
https://facebook.com/diodemilliamp
https://facebook.com/Saskrotch
FREE, even! 21+, though. Bring quarters. We're (at least, i'm) gonna be playing X-Men pre-show. *colossus roar*
I've been trying to get something like this together for a while, and here we go. First of many, I hope. I'm sick of playing for mp shows or whatever with a bunch of bands that sound nothing like us and didn't bring anybody, either. We've got a lot of new music coming out this year and I'm gonna try to smarten up. Plus I'm stoked to see saskrotch play.
Welp, my allegedly fancy pants red USB cart died suddenly (right before a show). Won't let me flash anything new to it and is totally corrupt. Ol' Blue is chugging along but I need a show backup. And my drummer wants one. Very excited that there's actually a new and better cart on the horizon. Thanks abrasive, can't wait.
This is awesome. Love the change. I had to fix all my noise channel tables, though. Win some, lose some.
I just updated to the newest version of lsdj so that I can use the "Stable" setting on noise instruments as I was sick of my kick drum cutting out randomly. This caused every noise instrument I had to get completely warped due to the change in tables. Even though (especially on the yahoo list) no one seemed to use the TSP table column for noise shaping, I certainly did and so has every single noise kick/snare example I've ever seen. I was able to recreate and occasionally even improve my drums by switching to the S command in the tables, but I am a little surprised by the lack of discussion that seemed to get. Did everyone just adapt or are most people still running 3.9.6?
Does it count as syncing if you make your drummer wear headphones?
Got this going on my powerpak, it's incredible. Thanks so much for putting this out there, this is now at the top of my list for potential visuals during my band's sets. Unfortunately still can't afford a projector, but some day!
Hmmm. The site I downloaded it from (http://aleksieeben.blogspot.com/2007/05 -drum.html) has a link to an extra zip that is full of the samples he used in the program. That and the pitched kick in the techno kit leads me to believe they're samples, though I could be wrong. I also have something called "superpack.rar" which I don't remember downloading but contains electricdrum.gb and a sample collection featuring some C64 drums, some of little-scale's megadrive sample pack and a bunch of other crap. Hmmm, indeed.
He did, it's just that pounder is kind of rough to work with. But oh man, electricdrum is awesome. Took some googling, but it's pretty much exactly what I was hoping for. Much more responsive and less error prone than pounder, plus sweet flammin' on the start button. I'm glad I asked. Any chance of seeing a sample replacement method in that one, I wonder?
I was wondering if Pounder was the only live (press button-->play sample) sample player on the DMG. It's samples are pretty harsh, and luckily I found little-scale's blog post about how to replace them. I'm going to give this a try ASAP, but I was wondering if there were any other sample players out there made for with a similar purpose in mind. Barring that, is there anything I should keep in mind when choosing samples? I'll probably go with some basic electro-type kicks and snares along with some pitched toms. Anyone have any experience (or maybe a newly recompiled Pounder rom...?) with this process?
I'm still looking for an Earthbound/Mother 2 soundfont pack. Someone, somewhere, help me!
