i can, i just don't have any proms right now...  getting some and then i can.  flashing is free, its just the extra cost of the proms themselves which are the price difference.  not a problem wink

they do not.  unfortunately.  it'd be a great solution then.

yeah.  thats nuts.

i think maybe a 'fundamentals of chipmusic' manual something might be what you need.  if anyone knows a good place for this.  it would address the issues of chords and such.  a lot of applying musical knowledge to this stuff means learning about the limitations of the hardware and either working around them (arps for example), or embracing them for what they are.  there are a lot of compositional methods, you'll always be met with the same hardware limits though.

how about each user has along with their profile a list of 3-5 currently-recommended songs?

This is the smartest thing that's been said on this entire thread

it would need to be within the user's actual profile, not a signature and posting that under your PM/EMAIL, etc links wold get cluttered.  signatures for sure aren't happening, pretty sure that was an unanimous call.  not really sure how to do that a clean way except posting it in the user's profile page.

which people can edit now anyways and add that sort of info.  BB code works there too!

there is an iphone/ipod touch app that does a lot of this stuff.  granted, not part of the site.  but the creation of your own list and whatnot.  one of the requests was the ability to share playlists, not sure if it was ever done.

the files which come off the cartridge via the usb port are not audio format.

so you record the audio from the gameboy like you would any other instrument.  record from the headphone out (or prosound jack if you've done this) into the computer.  you can use something as simple (and free) as audacity to do this, with very good results.
