guys, guys...  your ratios are all wrong....  its 37:1.

exactly.

big_smile  elaborate...

there is a new poll on this site, concerning button colors: http://store.kitsch-bent.com/product/custom-buttons

the new colors we got were a direct result of the last poll....  so your opinions matter.  please vote (:  there are too many colors to choose from.  mindboggling....

we don't, and probably won't at least for some time, stock the cases because its a little difficult to source them, and spending all the time trying to find a bulk supplier or trying to gather up enough used games, clean them, etc...  to satisfy the demand would be a huge investment in time.  its a lot easier just to let people source their own.  its easier to find one game, than 100 games in all good condition...  just a decision based on feasability, time, and desire.  you are, believe it or not, the first person to request that we include cases with the krikzz flashcarts....

ultimately it doesn't matter much since you can get adapter cables...  you could also get both and have a switch, but that'd be ridiculous tongue

most people get RCA jacks if they use Korg equipment, which has RCA ins/outs, or they want to run the gameboy into the tape input on a mixer.

the 1/8" jack is more adaptable i think.  and takes up less space.

functionally they are the same.

hot pink - 806 - http://www.pantone.com/pages/pantone/co … c_id=11196
orange - 021 - http://www.pantone.com/pages/pantone/co … c_id=12004
blue - 2718 - http://www.pantone.com/pages/pantone/co … ?c_id=5720 (the clear blue only, not the solid)
purple - 265 - http://www.pantone.com/pages/pantone/co … ?c_id=5594

the black is just black.  and the clear, clear.  the first buttons, the play-it-loud solids, were matched to play it loud colors, so i don't have a pantone code.  i'll try to get it, not that it matters much with those in particular (since they match the cases).

but, those are the colors used in the new stuff.  the hot pink is the only one i did a solid in, and black, the others are clear plastic.

the picture above is of these colors mixed together.  Some of them look marbled (like the black/pink ones, or the purple/pink ones), and others are just a whole shade off from the pantone, so i'll have to sell them separately from those.  all intentional, and a bit of an experiment to see how the turned out.  awesome, imo...  just wanted to clarify why teh pic above and those on the website aren't the same... ;P

pocket buttons are very soon.  national holidays slowed a lot down hmm

you can get some clear ones smile  soonish.  PM if you need a more exact date (if your project has a timeline).

but yeah, buttons are getting cool.  these colors are pantone...  i'll post the exact colors later.  can't recall off the top of my head.  although i picked them out. tongue

pantone is cool stuff.  they even do carpet now!  omg...

checkout the first post.  updates are there...

here is a background for you all, if you like it:

those particular buttons will all be for sale in the next couple days.  they look sick.  I just need to photograph all of them and set up a product and make it easy.  they are all unique and custom, so its time consuming taking pics, and i'm beat for today...

until then, enjoy the pic (:

edit -

yes, those buttons will be $4, like the rest of them on the site
no, i will not take pre-orders on them.  first come, first served

I thought this was more of a holistic question then it turned out to be.

ditto

1k is way too much.  for sure.

edit - on the site it says the kit is supposed to include 1k resistors.  so it seems intentional, but its simply the wrong value...  1k dims the red LED completely i'd bet, and the blue and green almost totally dimmed.  thats strange...

the acetone always destroyed mine.  either just ate at it if the mix was too strong, or it remained sticky afterwards even after a repeated soak.  the silicon doesn't respond well...

no!  that recipe is crazy......

the proportion of water:acetone is just around half and half, but you can go less too.

ok, here we go:

1. empty 1 pack in to a glass OR metal container
2. pour in near boiling water
3. pour in almost equal amount of acetone.  the water will boil a second because the acetone will lower the boiling temperature...
4. wait till it stops churning.  it won't take long
5. submerge your plastic
6. when it reaches the shae you want, take it out and wash it in cold water
7. set aside so the plastic can cure again

a couple things to consider

1. acetone isn't good for your health, at all.  please wear gloves and a mask, and preferably do this outdoors (if its not too cold)
2. you may find methods online that tell you to stick this all in the microwave.  ignore them.
3. use something not too hard to get the plastic out of the acetone, because the top layer of plastic will be very soft.  you can dent and scrape it then until its cured.

i hope this somewhat helps out...  honestly, i wouldn't start out with but 2:1 water:acetone, until you learn what is going on.  it took a bit of effort for me to be able to get a nice result from this.  i melted a few.

and, the instructions for yo-yo dying online are a good place to start, but the plastic is generally different from the harder plastic used in yo-yos.

i'm blabbing.  let us know how it works out...

i forgot a couple more things...

1. do NOT inhale the rit powder.  you'll have brightly colored boogies for a few days (i thought something was seriously wrong with me when i sneezed up black after doing this without a mask).  the powder is very small, and easily catches wind drafts...
2) MIX WELL!  if the rit is clumpy in the water at all, it'll show up on the plastic
